This is what I plan on doing — when I leave Rite Aid I should have a $3.00 UPR from Comtrex and a $3.00 UPR from Prep H. I also will be getting back two SCR for Zarbees and Emergen C.
If you don’t have any UPR your total would just be more OOP, but the end result would be the same deal.

I sure hope my store has these good deals left tomorrow!! I worked today so couldn’t get there! Save some for me!! lol

I haven’t gone to Rite Aid since the policy change and I have to say that mine is a pain now. They only allow two transactions per day… so I can’t roll 3 or 4 even if it’s on different items.. ugh

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for breaking this down into trasactions for us. I didn’t have time to figure it out ahead of time, busy with a Birthday in our household this weekend.
As ALWAYS, THANKS for all your hard work & effort in helping us save for our families.

Thanks! My oldest son turned 14 yesterday, YIKES!!! Guess we better start saving for that “1st car “. Know of any good car coupons? ;) LOL
Janice K. says
Well, I’m a 1 transaction kind of girl. I will have either 1-4 kids with me, so the quicker the better. I used my previous UPR’s which totaled about $18 and today I bought 2 bags of M&M’s, 2 John Frieda’s, 2 Carefree liners, 3 Extra gums (yeah, we have sweet teeth over here), Preparation H (since it was a MM), and 1 Blistex and after q’s and previous UPR’s, I spent .96 OOP.
Then I asked for a rain check for the Hand Sanitizer, turned out they had some in stock, so I guess I actually broke down and did a 2nd transaction (it was quicker then going back) and got the 4 bottles and used my other UPR’s and spent nothing, but got the $4 UPR’s back.
That was a fun and yummy trip :) My kids got to sneak in some M&M’s in the car too.
Amanda P says
FYI The UPR for Zarbees didn’t print for me.
Shannon says
thats because its a SCR.
Amanda P says
haha – I was all upset yesterday because I thought one of my good UPRs didn’t print. Totally messed up my OOP figures and second transaction. An online RA calculator would be really cool to help figure out the best OOP scenarios… any inventors/software programers out there?
Mary says
I am fairly new to this and have to admit that the drugstores intimidate me a little bit. I see where you list out several transactions- are you doing all of those in one trip and having the cashier ring you up separately for each transaction or do you leave and return later for your next transaction? Also, if you are purchasing an item that gets +UP can you get several items that have +UPs in the same transaction?
Shannon says
Mary,
Don’t be intimidated! Can I make a suggestion – don’t try to do all the transactions in one trip the first time. It can be very overwhelming! I do them all in one trip now, but I am kinda a rite aid junkie.
You have to check the ads for the limits, most are one.
Renee says
Today was my first day also. I just followed the list above. The cashier couldn’t be more helpful. She was EXTREMELY patient and she took her time ringing up the 4 separate transactions. She even walked me through how to do the rebates. I would have never know that you can only do it once a month.
Shannon says
Renee, what do you mean you can only do it once a month?
melissa says
I think she’s referring to only being able to submit your SCR once in each period. Once you’ve sent in for your check, you can’t do anymore that month.
Stephine says
I’m a little confused on the covergirl UPR. How many did you have to purchase to get the $10 UPR?? I bought:
1 mascara – $9.99
1 powder – 4.64
1 liquid consealer – 7.99
1 eyeliner – 1.79
I used my 2 coupons $8/2
I still have 2 coupons for $1/1
If I use those will i get the $10 UPR??
Thanks!
Shannon says
Stephanie,
That deal was last week.
Lily says
Hi, in your Transaction #4 scenario you list a $2.00/1 Zarbees Coupon. Where do you get this coupon from?
Shannon says
Lily,
Its a coupon that you had to print 2 weeks ago, so its no longer available if you did not print it.

Wow… first time doing the UP rewards. I followed your advise above and spent $9.26 OOP and am getting $9.48 in rebates. I did find a 1.00 coupon for the Emergen-C in the flu book that wasn’t listed above. I also didn’t purchase the Bayer asprin as I didn’t have any coupons for that. Thank you so much for taking the time to spell it out. As I was leaving, a lady asked me about the NeilMed spray and I shared with her your strategy above. She was very impressed.
Shannon says
woohooo!
Melissa says
I turned my $10 +UP Rewards from the Cover Girl Deal, paid nothing out of pocket (except sales tax) and walked away with $12 +UP Rewards because of money makers!! And I got tons of product!
4 Instant Hand Sanitizers
1 Prep H
1 Bayer Aspirin
1 Chloraseptic Spray
1 Burt’s Bees Cough Drops
1 Cepacol
1 Nasamist
1 Blistex
YAY!
The only thing I noticed is that the hand sanitizers (at least my store) expire 11/11….woops. There’s no way I can use 4 in one month. I’m thinking I might go back there and try to exchange them for some that have a later expiration date. This could be why they’re offering the +UP Rewards and trying to dump them, lol. Also, my Carefree Video Values coupon rang up as $0 value..check your receipts carefully girls! I had to go back and get an adjustment.
Melissa says
I did buy 2 Carefrees as well….forgot to add it to the list! So yes, I did buy them, the coupon should have gone through, lol
Ronda says
Glad you mentioned the $10.00+UPR from cover Girl! I guess I got so excited about the Taylor Swift stuff that I left my +upr on the receipt. I just found it thrown in my pile of Rite Aid receipts. Shew! lol
I want to get in and out of the store fast, so I will just buy everything in one transaction and come home with a lot of +UPR for next week
Shannon says
Oh my goodness! Glad you found it.
Melissa says
Can you stack the Carefree video values coupon w/ the manufacturer’s coupon from the paper? The video values coupon says “Manufacturer’s Coupon”, along with “Coupon Redemption Paid by Manufacturer” and “Cannot be Combined With Any Other Offer”.I see this on all of the Video Values coupons and I always wonder how it is possible to stack.
Amanda P says
Even though they say Manufacturer on them they are Rite Aid coupons and can be stacked with a Manufacturer that you clip from the newspaper. It’s perfectly legit according to Rite Aid’s coupon policy. You should print the policy and have it with just in case there is ever a problem.
Shannon says
Yep — if you check out the rite aid site, you can view the coupon policy, where it addresses using them.
