I ran (ok well hobbled) over to Rite Aid to check out the Covergirl Deal.
1. The coupon scans fine on blush items – no beeps, no hiccups – just went right thru.
2. My store prices were slightly higher.
3. When I bought 4 items in one transaction, it took 50% off both products, instead of 50% off the cheaper ones. So my transaction looked like this:
Buy (1) Covergirl Foundation $6.59
Buy (1) Covergirl Foundation $3.29
Buy (1) Covergirl Blush $5.69
Buy (1) Covergirl Blush $2.84
Total $18.41
used (2) $8.00/2 Coupons
Paid $2.41
Second transaction:
Buy (2) Covergirl Foundations $11.98 (bought a $7.99 bottle this time)
Use $8.00/2 Covergirl Coupon
Paid $3.98
Total $6.39
Got $10 UPR
Free + Overage
* I only split these transactions because I was testing the coupon. You can do them all in one if you choose too.

Had a great rite aid trip yesterday! Spent $14.62 Total! Did the Cover Girl transaction(walked away with 6 items and spent $13.33 OOP)and got my $10.00 UPR. Next transaction got 2-Gillette men’s bodywash, 1 Scope mouthwash, 2 Tresemme Styling products(coupons for all 3)and used my $10.00 UPR–spent $1.29 OOP and recvd $4.50 in UPR’s. Also used the Taylor Swift codes and my 11yr old daughter is awaiting her TSwift t-shirt and 2 bracelettes. Probably could have done better but happy with the results. Thanks for all the great posts.

I hear alot of people saying they are making baskets or donating items. I may be out of place to say this, but I have trouble with couponing because I don’t have internet access at home (can’t afford it) and when I do make it to the library there are time limits, no coupon printing ability, etc.
I would love coupons donations or baskets. I do go to food pantries but they give mostly bread, rarely fresh food and no non food essentials. Sometimes I feel like I’m punished for having morals and not having children out of wedlock as there is alot of monetary assistance for those with children but none for those without. If you need more details, I’m happy to provide them privately. Thanks

i bought 2 items at WM yesterday and used 1 q as they only had 1 blush in my color. i figured i’d just go in all month and and buy as they got the stock in. i spent $2.18 on the items.
once i read this post yesterday, i decided to go to RA today and try it on any make up. (now i see that this says that it wasn’t intended for eye liner and mascara, but the coupons never even beeped) after buying the makeup and my 2 MM pantene from last week at CVS, i have $51.48 in product to send in for the rebate! in all this will be a$8.57 MM if the rebate comes in (including the stamp!) if it doesn’t, then i paid under $2 for 3 foundations, 2 blush, 2 mascara, and 2 eyeliner :) and i was just getting discouraged w/couponing last week!!!
Ralph says
Worked great for my wife and myself for eyeliner lip stick foundation etc. How can I get the P&G rebate?
K says
I had a question regarding the rebate- do they need the receipts and the actual proof of purchase off the items? The form appears to simply want receipts and me to write down the upc code for items only, but I’m new to this and want to make sure I do it right!
Ralph says
K you can either mail the rebate in or do it on line. The mail in you fill in the store# reg# transaction# . Save your rebate slip until the month and mail or on line your monthly accumalation.
h says
I think she meant the PG rebate.
Brooke says
The rite aid I went to today only let me use one coupon. Said it was because the other products I got did not have an $8 item. Think it was kind of funny, but was going to make a fuss at the register. I’ll just try the one across the street.
Shannon says
ok that is hysterical. I could write a book with all the excuses I have heard.
Brooke says
Went to the 2nd rite aid that’s 1 block away and returned the makeup the first store wouldn’t let me use the coupon on. Talked to the manager and he said they just can’t give me cash back. (don’t we wish we could get paid the overages!)
I let them know how much nicer they were from the minute we walked in the store and were greeted with a friendly HI!. It’s amazing how much of a difference there is between stores.
Cindy says
I had to stop by rite aid just to try this and indeed it worked. I had 3/$8.00 and 3/$1.00 coupons for covergirl. Then in addition Rite Aid had its buy one get one half off sale. This sale and coupons included all face products and at our Rite Aide it ment everything that could be put on the face. (Lip, Liner, Macara, Foundation, Shadow ect…) Not to be included was nail products.
I purchased
1- Three Shadow Eye Trio
1-Lip Stain
1-Mascara
1-Liquid Foundation
1- Pressed Powder
1-Lip stick
After $27.00 in coupon and the reducton for the Rite Aid BOGO
I paid a wooping
$1.06…………So excited……

***HUGE COVERGIRL UPDATE***
Covergirl corporate deems “face products” as: FOUNDATION, BLUSH, CONCEALER, BRONZER, POWDER, and FACE TOOLS. Other products, such as mascara, eye liner, eye shadow, and eye pencils are considered “Eye Products” as well as lip stick/gloss are “Lip Products”, and these coupons are NOT intended for those.
This can be found on their corporate website!
Shannon says
Thanks Melissa, I think we determined this yesterday – I updated my other post and this was the newest update with a scenario that did not include any o fthem.
carrie c says
Success with using the coupons on eyeshadows and lipglosses! Bought 2 of each, both coupons scanned fine (holding my breath seemed to help), and paid only $0.28!! I will be returning to get my total up to $30 for the $10 UP reward. Thank you!!
Shannon says
lol carrie, dont pass out at the register.
Molly says
I’m confused. These coupons all state “1 COUPON PER PURCHASE” so how are y’all gettin away with using 4 at a time?
Shannon says
Molly, 1 per purchase means one per item, not one per transaction.
Kim says
I used to think that ‘face’ makeup did not include eye and lip however a few months back Walgreens had a store coupon for face makeup but specifically included eye makeup. So I think the designation is face = everything involving the face, Whereas if they decide to limit it they will designate exactly what area of the face. This is how I interpret it, hope this helps!
Stevie says
Shannon- When you did the two receipts, did your + UP print out? For some reason mine did not, I “spent” $24 the first transaction (used 3 $8/2 coupons) and $11.98 on the second (1 $8/2) but my reward didn’t print.
Store manager didn’t know why it didn’t print so she said to call the hotline. So I called and they are mailing the $10. $6.02 moneymaker. I’ll take that:)
Shannon says
Stevie, did you do them back to back? Sometimes it take a few minutes for the system to update. I did transaction 1 and ran to get another paper and came back.
Jenna says
Is it $30 total based on regular prices or are the sale prices factored in to get the catalina?
Shannon says
Rite Aid is strictly sales price.
Meg says
Do we NOT have to spend $30 at ones to get $10 rewards? and if we buy $60, do we get 2 $10 rewards? Thank you for posting this as I’m new to this your site is super helpful!
Shannon says
Meg,
You can do the scenarios EXACTLY how I have them listed and get the UPR. No there is a limit of 1 on the UPR.
Cathy says
There’s a P&G beauty rebate avail. now, so save your reciepts!
marla says
where is that rebate available from? thanks!
Cmat says
Yay, this will be nice. I’m running a little low on foundation and wanted to try some of the new covergirl foundations.
sarah says
SCRs are super easy. just go to riteaid.com/scr and it will walk you through the rest. The first time you will need to set up an account. Once you have an account submitting an SCR just takes seconds.
Felicita says
Erin you have to sign up on Rite Aids website for the Single Check Rebate and just put in the info they ask and that’s it :-)
Sandra says
There is also a P&G MIR for $10 wyb $50. The Covergirl scenario would fit well into this. And darn…I didn’t realize I could use the $8/2 on products on lips and eyes stuff. I bought (and donated) a lot of foundation. I actually NEED mascara. Oh well.
Laura K says
Did anyone else get codes on their receipt for Taylor Swift Concert Tickets when they purchased their Covergirl???
I entered my codes and got the following instead of taking my chances at winning concert tickets:
2 Taylor Swift Key Chains
1 Taylor Swift Bracelet (think silly band but thicker)
1 Taylor Swift T-Shirt
I’ll see what comes in the mail!
D says
I got those codes too Laura!!! Icing on the Money Maker cake!!! :)
Brooke says
I got the points too! I ordered a T-shirt and guitar journal. Wahoo!
Erin says
Today was my first time shopping at Rite Aid! I usually just do walgreens and cvs but I thought is give RA a try lol I love it! The cashiers were soooo nice and helpful, they could probably tell how confused I was with the covergirl deal haha! Everything worked out great, I actually made $3 on the covergirl make-up. I’m wondering though how I go about the SCR for the oral b Power toothbrush I got. I couldn’t find anything on the receipt about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
denise says
in the store by their ads is a rebate book. you can fill it out online or send it in the mail. they tell you how to do it in the book.
Lisa says
My scenario:
Covergirl foundation $7.99
Covergirl foundation 50% off $7.99 = $3.99
Covergirl blush $5.69
Covergirl blush 50% off $5.69 = $2.84
Covergirl eye shadow two at $3.39
Covergirl eye shadow two at 50% off $3.39 = $1.69 each
Used four $8 off 2 coupons
= $0.82 after tax and received $10 UP+ :)

Thanks for the posts and comments. I came home from my morning coupon trip to read your post and went back out to the Rite Aid 3 minutes from my house. I scored 3 mascaras, 1 loose powder, 1 tinted moisturizer, 1 blush, 2 eyeshadows all for only $3.71 and got $10 back. Thanks again!
Heather says
It was definitely a good day at Riteaid. I spent a little over $4 out of pocket, and got, 4 concealers, four blushes, two Nivea chapsticks a Scope, a crest whitening toothpaste, two frappaccino and two reese’s peanut butter pumpkins. I don’t like to roll rr from week to week, especially at Riteaid because it takes an act of God, (or covergirl) to get me into that place!!! the cashiers are evil at the one that’s closest to me! So I took the last round of rr and bought us all a treat with it.
Thanks again for all that you do to make this easy for us!!!
Bonnie says
I wish I could edit my last post. I was typing away. That was a $28.69 mm. But still really great!
Bonnie says
I have to say I probably had the best run today at Rite Aid that I ever had. I was so thrilled. I am in the process of making some baskets for a fund raiser and today sure did put a big order in for the her basket I am making, as well as help me get some items that I am in need of. I normally don’t share my runs via internet…but this one was so great I have to share.
I started off with $24.00 in +ups from last week.
Trans 1
1 Scope – $4.00
2 Dove Shampoos – $3.50
2 Dove Conditioners – $3.50
1 Dove Hair Spray – $3.50
1 Pert Plus – $3.00
1 Advil – $4.39
1 Pair of Pantyhose – $2.99
2 Cover Girl Mascaras – $5.99
2 Cover Girl Eye Shadows – $5.59
2 Cover Girl Bronzers – $4.39
1 Pack of Goldfish (For the grandbaby) -$0.80
Total oop $0.64
Got back $25.50 in +UPs
Trans 2 – I had my daughter do this transaction for me with her card and she was so nice as to do it.
4 Nice n Easy Hair Color – $7.99
Used $14.50 from Trans 1 in +Ups
oop $1.67
Got back $10.00 in +UPs
Rebate from P&G – Get back $10.00
So my total oop was (Including tax) $2.31 and I still have $21.00 in up and will get the rebate for $10.00
Total $38.69 mm. I about fell over when I was all done! Wish I could take a picture and show you, but I don’t have all the items anymore. I had to drop some off to my mother and my daughter took hers.
April says
I bought:
2 covergirl mascaras for 5.99
2 covergirl lipsticks 5.99
2 covergirl eyeliners 5.39
2 covergirl eyeshadows 3.39
all were buy 1 get 1 50% off. i used 4 $8 off 2 coupons and paid (((((( $.21 ))))))))
Tiffany T says
I did a very similar deal, actually .21 cents!!!
sarah says
did the cover girl coupons beep at all? I take “face makeup” to mean things like foundation or powder. I would like to do this deal as long as the coupons go through without a problem. If the salesperson has to push the coupons through I’m thinking YMMV.
Christine says
April, I am confused. Your total comes to $31.14 before tax. How did you get to use $32 worth of coupons? My RA won’t let me use coupons worth more than the item.
Shannon says
Per their policy, they will adjust the coupon down to the amount of the order.
Amber says
I bought 2 foundations (7.99), 2 concealers (5.49), 1 tinted moisturizer (5.99) and one Naturelux lip tint (5.49). i wasn’t sure if the coupon would work on the lip stuff but it went through fine! The second item rang up as 50% off. My total was ~ 30, used three $8 off coupons. Paid $6 got $10 back!!!
Renee says
the Covergirl coupon is in todays P&G insert
Laura says
What packet is this coupon in??
Stephan says
the 8/2 is in the P&G insert, if you mean that…
Mary says
Isn’t there a limit on how many Cover Girl transactions per household? I thought I read 4?
Shannon says
not sure what you mean by limit? There is a limit of 4 like coupons per transaction and limit of 1 UPR .
Mary says
Maybe that’s what I saw. The 4 like coupons. Thanks!
jill says
I know 20 questions but why didn’t you get $10 upr the first transaction?
Shannon says
you have to buy $30
jill says
How did you get them to take off the big one as 1/ off? My luck It wouldn’t go that way.
Shannon says
Not sure what you mean, the register automatically calculates the sales price – so I am not sure why you wouldnt have the same results?
jill says
so you paid $6.39 out of pocket or $3.98?
Shannon says
two transactions added together.
