Holy toy clearance! I went to Target for a few things and came home with toys. Super cheap toys. Like $40.00 toys for $6.00!
My favorite find $9.99 Tag Reading Systems! I picked up one to donate to Toys for Tots since I don’t have any one at the right age for this. I couldn’t pass it up.
Did you find any fabulous deals?

Our Target has the markdowns on toys too…….what’s the reason for the markdowns? Anything specific? Just curious. I am going to wait a few weeks as the markdowns become greater. Great time to stock up for Christmas gifts!
Shannon says
Making room for the upcoming new season toys is why the clearance.

Earlier in the week, I found 2 packages of bubble liquid marked down to around $.80 each. Today, when I went to a different store, I was able to get a Ni Hao bubble blowing machine for around $3.
My 2 year old loves bubbles, so I hope the blower works. If not, $5 surely won’t break the bank and is definitely worth the try. :-)

I managed to find a package of side walk chalk for $.33 today! One or two of them were broken in the package, but my daughter always breaks them anyway, so I didn’t really care. Especially for that price. LOL

I have been checking out the local Target clearance toys for a few weeks and have picked up plenty of sand toys and bubbles for fillers for our daugther’s easter basket next spring. I was lucky enough to hit a supertarget traveling home from the beach last night and got bags full of toys on clearance including dress up accersories, Fancy Nancy toys/dress up gear, more bubbles, Chuck trucks, sand toys, some preschooler games, and an Elmo puppet. My husband wasn’t thrilled about trying to fit all my bargains into the car, but we managed. I think I’m going to have to start a 2nd gift closet! Keep checking back b/c I’ve found that many of the prices are still falling. Some of the toys I picked up had 4 different clearance stickers on them.

I went to Target a few days ago and got some amazing deals on toys for my 18 month old. $4.98 for a Tickle Me Elmo puppet, $2.50 for a Little Peoples ice cream truck and cow, $0.24 for a Slinky brand pinwheel, $1.38 for Circo brand pom-poms, $2.50 for a Care Bears bubble machine. I saw a bunch of other great deals that I had to restrain from taking advantage of…like a Ni Hao cell phone for under $5, Circo mock kitchen appliances (microwave oven, range, coffee maker) for under $5, an awesome little pop-up play tent for ages 3+ for under $5, a TON of Easy Bake Oven packages for a little over $1. WOW. I might have to go back. While I was there I took advantage of the $.20 Rose Art 24 count crayons and $0.88 construction paper.

I love the Tag Reader deal! And Legos for 3.64? I’m getting the kids in bed and heading for Target! Unless you’re willing to trade?

I’ve been back once a week for the last couple of weeks and really nothing good to speak of. I think I will make a trip again tonight being that the kids are at Grandma’s house.

The Target in Onalaska, WI is only 30- 50% off right now but there was still some good deals out there. I got about 10-15 boy toys that filled the cart for $60 and then used a $10 gift card from a transferred presciption = $50 total. All the clearance games were already completely gone :-(
Tracey says
I found a lot of good things today. My Little Ponies, Dora dolls, transformers, a Thomas set. My cart was filled. Christmas shopping is almost done!

I just went this morning and found tons of great things for my daughter’s 6th birthday next month, as well as a few toys for my 2 year old, a few to save for birthday parties, and a few to send to my niece and nephews. My favorite find was the LeapFrog Didj in pink for my daughter, it was regularly $69.99 and I got it for $17.48!
Ginny says
This is me too. I bought the finishing birthday present for my son just yesterday at Target and two for my two nieces and I paid regular price. I know there were people marking things down but I didn’t realize that until after I read this post. I was completely oblivious. Oh well. It was on my lunch break and I was in a hurry =). Maybe next time

Lol.. I swear we’re unlucky. There’s a big clearance sale at Target after we got all of our daughters birthday gifts, and then a 20% off cpn at Toys R Us for the two days after her birthday, and all of her stuff we basically bought at Toys R Us.
Maggie says
I went to Target on my lunch hour yesterday and lucked out. They were marking down the toys to 75% off while I was there. I hovered over the ladies while they were marking down. I bought some small toys for my sons upcoming 5th bday and bought some christmas presents also. My favorite finds were a Buzz Lightyear Water Sprinkler for $5.02; Tickle Me Elmo Hands for $7.22; and sidewalk chalk for $.33. I may go to another Target today to see what else I can find. While I was there, I got some Chef Boyardee for free, cheap Bagel Bites, cheap Wonka candy bar and cheap Kid’s Cuisine’s frozen meals. I hated having to go back to work, would have loved to shop more!

This is the THIRD!! July in a row that I did ALL my Christmas shopping for the kids at Target. I think this is when they clear out and restock or it’s a secret “Christmas in July” sale they don’t mention. I couldn’t wait till the toy sale came! I got a TON of toys for $105.81 and saved $281.73!!!! :)
coley2123 says
Funny, it wasn’t until I got home that I realized I had a mailer “get $5 for spending $50” – it’s a shame that I didn’t remember while checking out last night!
Shannon says
LOL well that would have come in handy!
Patricia says
My target not only had toys 75% off but they had baby gear marked down to 75% off too!!! I got a nice wooden high chair for $28, if I had room in my car I would have bought one of everything! They had travel systems with the stroller and car seat for $50, swings for $15, play yards for $20…..
Plus they had just marked down the toys so I got a buggy full of good stuff, big transformers, lego sets, mega blok sets. I spent about $150 but I saved well over $300!!!
coley2123 says
Very glad I heard the little one announce “clearance”!
Wow, the bill was $80 when I left but I bet retail was tripple that – I “closed” my Target tonight then headed to the grocery store and am just now getting home. The toy finds are stuffed in the trunk, no time tonight to tuck them away before the little one comes tomorrow for the weekend. Maybe we’ll try the “other” Target after I pick him up tomorrow – hopefully, they will have some stock. Thanks for the business card tonight and the chat!
Never saw the Tag system and that just hit the top of my “gotta-get” list…
Shannon says
@coley2123,
So nice to meet you in Target! Welcome to FTM. Make sure you stash some of those goodies away for Christmas!
Nice chatting and good luck with your grandson.
Melissa says
If your store hasn’t marked down their toys yet try again next Thursday. Some stores are a week behind for some reason. Where I work is a week behind the other Target that is only 10 miles away.
Kelly W says
We are headed to Target tomorrow. So hope they have some good finds!!
Rosy says
I am going to try and get both the Lego set and the Leap Pad.. hope I have some luck tomorrow, thanks for the quick reply :)
Terri says
Thank you! We got one at a yard sale for $10, and discovered it will cost $10 to replace the broken pen…. I will be heading to Target tomorrow hoping to find this deal!
Rosy says
Could you tell me how much you got the Lego Bionicle looking toys. My son loves all that stuff, just an idea on the price would be nice. Thank you :)
Shannon says
@Rosy,
$3.64
jess says
Ah! I’m so jealous of your Lego find! I went to 3 Targets today hoping to get some, because my boys LOVE them – but there weren’t any on clearance. Were they 75% off? And the big Thomas set. My 4 year old loves Thomas – but there were only the little wooden trains at my store. Of coure, he’ll be thrilled with those!
Shannon says
@jess,
Thomas sets were $4.74
Lori says
Don’t forget, donate a toy worth $10 retail value during the holidays gets you into places like Knotts Berry Farm and 6 Flags on “designated days”… Another great reason to pick up enough toys to cover a family of 4!!! We do this every year and always arrive with AWESOME toys worth $40 each!! Keep your receipt… they do require that!!
