$2.59 each at my store (not $2.39), still a good deal though.
Sheila says
I contacted Martins/Giant about what they accept as far as printable coupons. They never answered my question but the coupon policy they sent me stated that they do not accept coupons for free items.
Sheila says
I think I still have the email if you want me to forward it so it can be shared on here.
Shannon says
Shela, I think you may be confused, because the coupon policy says they do not accept coupons for FREE items. Meaning the coupon says FREE XXX , not a $1.00/1 but Free XXX
Sheila says
Shannon, I went back and found the email and here is the exact quote-“a coupon cannot be applied to the free item with ‘buy one get one free’ sales”.
Shannon says
Hmm, I just got my official policy out (and this is also on the website) and there is no verbiage there nor on the website. I am contacting my contact at Giant . Sheila, is this definitely Giant PA or Giant, because I have not seen this in Giant PA policy. Not doubting, but want to get it straightened out for future reference. Giant stores may have a different policy.
COUPON POLICY:
The customer must purchase the item to which the coupon applies.
Coupons must not be expired.
A store coupon and a manufacturer coupon may be redeemed on the same item. If the combined value for both coupons used exceeds the price of the item, the item is free. The manufacturer’s coupon will be deducted first, then the store coupon will be adjusted so that it does not exceed the price of the item.
Coupons may be redeemed on damaged or discontinued merchandise that has been reduced.
We do not accept coupons from competitors.
We do not accept altered or tampered (i.e. expiration date cut off) or Xerox copied coupons.
The value of the coupon may not exceed the price of the item.
DOUBLE COUPON POLICY:
In order for a coupon to be doubled, the Customer must use their Bonus Card.
The Double Coupon Policy does not apply to FREE coupons, Catalina coupons, store coupons.
The total doubled value can not exceed the price of the item.
Only one coupon for the same item will be doubled, all other will be redeemed at face value. (Example: 12 cans of Hi-C punch, 1 coupon will be doubled, 11 will be redeemed at face value) Only one like coupon will be doubled.
All coupons with a face value up to and including .50 cents will be doubled. Example: A .50 cent coupon will be doubled to $1. All coupons with a face value from .51 cents to .99 cents will be redeemed for $1.
Double Coupon limits can vary. Contact your local store for details.
INTERNET COUPONS:
We do accept internet coupons with the following exceptions:
Coupon value can not exceed $5.
No FREE item coupons.
Sheila says
Huh, that’s weird. Everything is exactly the same-the sale, the policy-except for the “no coupon on the free item” part. I always thought that since Martin’s is owned by Giant and all of their sales are the same that everything would be the same. I guess not quite. I’m pretty sure though, that I have used a coupon on a free item at Martin’s before I received that version of their policy (it’s different than the one I had found on their website) and they took it no problems.
Sheila says
Just went and searched martins coupon policy online and the online version still says nothing about not accepting coupons for the free item in a BOGO. *sigh* Now I’m confused, lol.
Shannon says
Sheila, I have a call in to my contact. Lets see what they say. THanks for looking into this!
Sheila says
Thank you! for checking it out. I’ve been kind of confused by the difference in the two policies I have and since I’m pretty well stocked with most things, haven’t tried “testing the waters”. But I would love to have a clear answer.
Cindy says
Dang it, I’m not seeing that coupon in my SS.
kelsey says
same here! And I was hoping to get some to mix in with the turkey from last week for some turkey burgers…..oh well.=(
Sara Grove says
The coupon in the Giant book is a manufacturer’s coupon :(
Sara Grove says
nvm totally read it wrong sorry a case of the monday’s! >.<
FortheMommas says
Hi Sara, Its Amanda from FTM. That is the correct coupon, you would use 2 of those to make it $.18 each.
Tiffany says
you can use 2 man items when you guy 2 items..but as she stated, the store system will allow it, but the cashier may not allow you to use a coupon on a free item
Jamie says
This may be a YMMV thing with Giant. At my store attempting to use 2 coupons on a b1g1 will beep at the register.
anna says
Question about Martin’s coupon policy. I tried to use a coupon for $1/1 A-1 steak sauces plus a coupon off $1 Ground Beef WYB A-1 and cashier said I couldn’t use them together. Is this correct?
Jaime says
The problem you have is that the coupon for $1 off ground beef WYB A-1 is actually attached to the A1, not the burger. Then that would not allow you to use the second A1 coupon. However, I have had periodic success with the cashiers, arguing that the coupons say 2 different things, and therefore I should be able to use both. Technically, you probably shouldn’t be able to use the 2.
Erika Sirgenson says
But the verbage on the AI/meat coupon (I have this as well) states save $1.00 ON BEEF wyb A1. Not save $1.00 WYB beef AND A1. To me that means I can still use a coupon on the A1 in addition. It’s always been that way.
Kimberly says
How can this be when both coupons are MFQ’s?
FortheMommas says
Hi Kimberly, Its Amanda from FTM. You are buying 2 items, so you can use 2 coupons. But it may vary by your store if it is allowed by the cashier, there is nothing official in the policy about using 2 coupons on BOGO sale. Hope this helps.
Christine says
Kimberly, FTM wrote “OR” so you don’t use 2 Giant coupons AND 2 insert coupons..you just use 2 coupons total if you are buying 2 items :)
