Details – There is an upcoming giftcard deal at Giant. You’ll get 4x Extra Bonus Points with the your gift card purchases. This means for every $100.00 spent, you’ll get $.40 off per gallon, up to 3o gallons. These deals are valid 11/17/13 to 12/7/13. Please check your store for participating gift cards – however, Giant and Martins gift cards are EXCLUDED.
You can buy a Visa Gift Card but will have to pay an activation fee. The best bet is to buy a Visa gift card at the highest amount your store has. This will mean you will only pay ONE activation fee. You can fill up to 30 gallons, but if you do not get the full 30 gallons, you can calculate your deal here on the FTM Gas Deal Calculator.
If your store has the $500 Visa Cards, you can do this deal:
Visa Giftcard Deal:
Buy Visa Card $500.00 + $5.95 Activation Fee
Pay $505.95
Get $60.00 in gas ($2.00 off in gas x 30 gallons)
$54.05 Moneymaker
They also have store cards like Gap, Macys, etc. These cards typically do not require a activation fee (check the back of the card to be sure). I have not seen the denomination higher than $100.00 in stores, but since there is no activation fee, that is not a concern in this scenario.
Other Gift Card Deals:
Buy (1) $100 Gift Card $100.00
Get $12.00 in Gas ($.40 x 30)
$12.00 moneymaker per giftcard
Use the Gas Deal Calculator here to figure out your deals!
* The ad does not state a limit, so not sure if it is limit 1 or not

I missed out on this deal – I bought $50 GC and only got 100 points but I needed gas so I filled up with $2.00 off. Anyway, AFTER I filled up I noticed that I didn’t get the full points that I should have. CS said they will credit me. Wonder if they will do this for the next gas promo. I only use 30 gal every 2 weeks so I can’t do this again before 11-30.
I don’t regularly shop at Giant, but I might have to stop by just for this deal! Thanks for the heads-up!
Worked flawlessy for me at the Quakertown Giant Routes 663 & 309. They had plenty in stock.
i live close ,may as well try that store,:)
Hi! I did this deal. Bought a $500 Visa gift card with my Amex credit card. Used that $500 Visa Gift card to get $250 in more gift cards. I received a total of 3,000 points, which is $3.00 off a gallon….and for a mini van, I’ll be saving a TON!!!!
Our store is .10 cents for every $50, so this doubles ours correct? I’m beyond excited because we have a Disney trip coming up and they have Disney cards you can load any amount up to $1500 on, plus I own a travel agency that specializes in Disney so I’m about to make some clients super happy!!
i have guestion;can i go in gas station on two cars and fill both up with points ,if i don’t put nozzle down, points say 1 per car,but up to 30 gallons.is enyone try that.i have my and hubby car to fill?
I haven’t tried it but it does say one car. What I do is take 3 gas cans and fill them and my mini van.
I have tried that and gotten away with it.. and I have had them turn the pump off on me as well.. and then you are out points. I contacted customer service to complain and they indicated it’s a safety issue. This is total BS because it’s not any different then filling gas cans.. and moving a “hot” nozzle, as they call it, from can to can. However, to avoid them turning off the pump and losing gas points.. it’s best to just get enough cans that you can fill your car and the cans to get all your gas.
thank you,i better invest in gas cans :)
I bought $250 worth of gift cards today for xmas presents. I earned a free turkey and still have $.70 off gas. I may go back and get another $250 MC or Visa gift card. Great deal!
If you have more points on your card than it takes to get gas for free, will you be left with the balance or does the gas station take all your bonus points?
You would be left with the balance and can use the points at your next fill up.
You can get more than one fill up (as Maggie said, your points will roll over to your next fill up) BUT you need to use all the points by the end of this gas points period which, I believe, is 11/30.
My hubby has just done the deal twice. He bought a $500 gift card, paid $505.95 and got 2000 points. Then he actvated this gift card and bough a second gift card and used the first one for payment +$5.95 activation fee. So he got 4000 point and it means 30 gallons of gas + a turkey for $11.90 out of porket.
Now that’s working it! Keep up the good work.
Hi, I was wondering if we can “roll” our gift card purchases. Can I buy a $500 visa gc, then buy another one with that one?
That would be a great deal!
Stores don’t usually let you use gift cards to buy other gift cards. Not sure if Giants computer system would let it.
I bought a Visa gift card that can also be used as a debit card to try. You have to call the number and assign a pin number. I then I used it to buy another gift card (and put the card fee on my bank debit card). It worked. Now I’m off to roll a few more over!
I did the same thing as Helen and it worked out perfectly! I activated and set a PIN on the card first so I could use it as a debit card. Just ask the cashier to split your payment.
how can i set apin on card? i got one,it dos’t say to get a pin
Hi Shannon,
Just did this deal and paid with credit card. It appears that there may not be a limit on how many times you can do it, although the fact that points expire in two weeks inherently limits most people who won’t use more than 30 gallons during that time.
QUESTION: If you use the Visa card for groceries at Giant, doesn’t that mean you’re actually making another $15 since everyday purchases at Giant earn .10 per $100 spent? ($500 spent on groceries = .50/gallon x 30 = $15)? So essentially, if you use it for food at Martin’s you’re making $69.05. Let me know if my thinking is right on this.
Also, is it just as good of a deal to buy the $500 Amex or MC cards? They appeared to only have 5.95 activation fees as well, but I’ve never bought one of those before so I wasn’t sure if there was anything to watch for.
Thanks!
I have had stores who won’t take Amex. Never had one turn down a MC or Visa.
