I purchased 2 gift cards, in seperate transactions, today at the Martins in Indiana, PA. No problems at all. JcPenney & TGIF is the cards I purchased.
Plan on stopping back after work to pick up another & try using my $5 coupons to bring the price down to $15.
My cashier let me roll my $5 to buy another gift card too! We’ve been saving up to buy a new TV and were able to get $700 in GC to Best Buy for only $560! Luckily we have several Giants around us and bought at different places as to not buy up all the GC’s from one store. Now to wait for an amazing Black Friday sale!
Lucky, lucky!! The coupon says not valid on items prohibited by law, and gift cards are up on the sign prohibited by law, so they wouldn’t let me roll mine – but that’s ok, I’ll just have a blast spending them all and using coupons with them :)
Yesterday I bought a Toysrus card and rolled my $5 OYNO to by an Amazon card which also produced a a $5 OYNO. The exp. date is 11-12-11.
Has anybody seen any gas gift cards near the lehigh valley? I really want gas cards for Christmas gifts.
Hi Crystal, I’ve been to 3 Giants in the Lehigh Valley, the only gift cards for gas they have are giant gas gift cards, which do not generate the reward. I’ll let you know if I spot any!

I bought a giant gift card and it didn’t give me a $5 cat but I bought an applebees one and the $5 cat printed out

I bought a $25 Lowes g.c. and got the $5.00 catalina. I immediately used it on my grocery order and didn’t notice if the $5.00 off has to be on a certain $$ order. Does anyone know? In other words, can I use a $5.00 catalina on a $5.00 order (or must it be larger)?

Lisae – that’s exactly what I did. I’m sure I sound nuts, but we did 60 cards = $1500 which will not get us very far at Lowes. :)

It worked on Cabela’s Gift card and iTunes one. They were all $25. The cashier even let me use the $5 CAT on my next gift card purchase because it does not state that you cannot use it on a gift card and went through without beeps :) So I paid $20 OOP and got another $5 CAT.
I just purchased an Amazon GC and the catalina did not print. I purchased the same kind of card yesterday and got the catalina with no problems. When I asked about it today, the manager told me that the coupon I got yesterday had nothing to do with purchasing the GC, that it was tied to my bonus card and that it was a “bonus” coupon for having reached a certain purchasing level. Has anyone heard of these, or did he just not know what he was talking about?

ugh! I wish I would have read the comments to this post before going to Giant. I checked at the customer service desk and the girl there said the catalina was just for the Mastercard $25. I was going to purchase it anyway, but when they rang in up there was a $3.95 activation fee! I apologized and left sans gift cards.

I just got back from Giant and bought Kohls, Toys R Us, Best Buy, and TGIF giftcaqrds. Each produced a $5 catalina. ON the Cat it says you can only use 1 per transaction and 1 a day. I tried to use 4 and they beeped.
what is the expiry date on the catalinas?

They say one per transaction, however, a few mos ago we did this deal @ Acme, and they let me redeem them all in one transaction after they saw we were splitting it up.
All I know is my Giant is going to have a blast doing 60 transactions if they make me split it up. LOL Y

FYI: I got approval at my local Giant from the lead cashier and manager, when I come in they will override the coupons for me all in one transaction. I told them I’ll be happy to split them up, but it would probably turn into a 2 hour checkout. They were very kind and happy to accommodate me. So, just talk to your management. :)

I got a $25 Subway card and it printed fine although I had to ask at the desk because there was no signage.
I bought a $25 Red Lobster gift card today… now I know why a $5 OYNO printed out!! Woohoo!
I just called my local Giant (Exton) and they only have it for the Mastercard GC and there IS an activation fee of $3.99…

Where can this ad be seen? It’s not in my Giant flyer in the Lehigh Valley. I also have to add, we have not seen anything about a free turkey this year, but I just looked at a flier online down in Doylestown and they’re doing free turkeys. What is everyone’s experience with this? Does the Lehigh Valley just have the worst Giants ever (Including gas point stores where there are no gas stations?)

My hubby did this deal, and purchased lots of different gift cards. It is not just the MasterCard pictured. I’m not sure exactly which ones he got because some are for Christmas for me! He said he got a variety though, and they were all included. He had to do each as a separate transaction to get the CAT to print. There were no fees for the gift cards he purchased.
Last time they ran a gift card special, I bought the VISA gift card and there was a $4.95 fee for it. I didn’t know that gas gift cards had no fees! I wonder if they have Giant gas gift cards with no fees? Wow that would be great!!

Giant giftcards are not included.
Don’t these cards usually have some sort of fees attached when they’re purchased? If this is the case, in the end I think you’d be breaking even.
It included gas and toysrus coupons last time…no fees.
