Are you sure the gas deals are working with the numbers you listed?….the last time I tried doing the gas deals when they had items that were advertised as buy 6, but the items were listed as 2/$5.00 etc. you had to buy 12 of the 2/$5.00 items for the deal to work…in other words buy 6 meant buy 6 only if the items were advertised at an individual price. If the item was advertised as 2/$5.00 you had to buy 12, if it was 3/$5.00 you would have to buy 18 (if buying all of one item.

Sometimes deals are must buy x to get the price.. but I have never seen it like that with gas deals at Giant PA. Anyone else?

I’ve never had that problem either at Giant PA. Which part of the chain are you going to? Are you in MD?
Kathie says
I went just before to Giant MD (our sales start on Friday and run through Thursday) and bought 6 of the Air Wick Candles. I got $0.40 off per gallon of gas. I did not have to buy 18.

Thanks for the update Kathie :)

I’ve never had that happen to me like that.

The price of the item has nothing to do with how many you need to buy. If it says buy 6, get $.40 gas, you only need to buy 6. The prices could be anything, 2 for $10, 3 for $8, 10 for $10, anything, and you still only need 6 to get 400 gas points ($.40 off per gallon). If for some reason your points do not add up right, you should contact cs, maybe you save all your receipts until you have spent all your gas points, that’s what I do. Just in case you have any sort of issue, you can easily show how you earned your points. Hope that helps you! :)

I always do these gas deals, sometimes one of the items listed may not have been programmed as part of the deal therefore it doesn’t count. It usually happens in the beginning of the week, Giant is pretty good at fixing their mistakes and also on canceling great deals. In Jennersville, PA, customer service is pretty good at crediting the card with the correct number of point, it just takes 24 hours for the point to show up on the card.

Can you ask about this at customer service? When things are 3/$5 and I buy 6 of them (total = $10), I get the gas deal. So maybe the customer service person can explain to you why you aren’t getting the points.

This was at giant in Havertown PA the last time the lysol deals were on. It didn’t work for the gas points so I went to customer service. They said that they were having a lot of people confused about that, and that if the price was listed as 2/$5 then 2 of that item counted as one of the 6. I haven’t tried it since. I’ll try it this week and see what happens. I guess it’s possible it was a one time glitch, but they said it was the way the deal was set up.

Well I tried it this time at the giant in Havertown PA and it worked!
Shannon says
Yeah! I am glad you tried again! I know it can be hard to try once a deal fails! Yeah!
MultipleMamaSaver says
So glad it worked for you the 2nd time around!
Must have been a glitch in the system (& maybe you got your answer the 1st time from a new employee…who didn’t know how the deals worked:))
I do gas deals weekly at local Giant PA’s and have never had this issue. Each item has counted as 1 item no matter how many you buy or what the sales pricing was.
I always check to see all of my deals (gas points & anything else) show up on my receipt before I leave the store. If it is wrong, or I can’t find it on my receipt, I go talk to customer service. At the store I frequent, they are very nice and helpful. They will put gas points onto account if missed & fix anything else the computer missed.
