My Staples ad online had a coupon for $5 off janitorial paper when you purchase $25. Charmin Basic is on sale. I got 4 of the 16-roll packages for 36 cents a roll.
I did this last week too, I hope it works again this week. I do use the coupon though to reduce my OOP. Plus I used my Staples Rewards to get the batteries, so I really spent $0! Woo Hoo!
In my experience, if you use Staples rewards to buy another item that has a reward, you will only receive the new reward for the amount you paid OOP. I learned that one the hard way. Using rewards on rebate items has no effect, however.
I asked at Staoles and was told if you use the $1.00 coupon you will get $1 less in Staples Rewards. Does any one know if this is the case?
Yes, this is how it works. But since you can’t roll Staples rewards I would rather use the coupon and pay less OOP. Sometimes I got lucky because the system splits the coupon up and divides it among all items, so that I used a coupon and still got almost the full purchase price back. But that depends on you staples…
