Shopping at Rite Aid is so frustrating and I had given up shopping there because of the4 coupon policy and most of all because of the attitude at some of employees. I wish couponing was like they show in the show Extreme Couponing. There are some Rite Aid stores where employees treat couponers well but most of my experience has been negative. Sometimes one has to chose between a bargain and not jumping over the counter choking an employee and end up in the back of a police car. After today’s experience at a Rite Aid, I think I will stay away from Rite Aid for a little while.
I agree. The manager at my local Rite-Aid has accused me of stealing and follows me around the store to ‘make sure I don’t pocket anything.’ I have never stolen anything, she is just upset about the deals I get. She told me they lose money when I use coupons, and I know it isn’t true. It can be very hard sometimes.
The issue is that all the items that purchased with coupons aren’t credited as revenue to the local Rite Aids so yes, that revenue isn’t reflected on the bottom line of the local store but it is reflect on overall Rite Aid profits. The managers feel that they are just giving away free stuff and wasting their time. However, this is an internal issue and not the customer’s fault. They really need to change their system. I really can’t say too much on these blogs but Rite Aid really wants to discourage couponers from shopping at their stores. However, in that case, they really should do away with the UP Rewards.
This week I had two incidents of just employees being unprofessional and rude just because I’m a couponer and sometimes it is extremely frustrating. I shop on a daily basis because it is actually my job for me, I have about 30 families that I shop for and I use coupons for the most of the items that I purchase for them. In this economy, I feel that my service is very valuable to a lot of people but I do get discouraged sometimes.
I myself am very pleased with the 4 like coupon policy. Shopping doesn’t need to be like they do on extreme couponing. I like to stockpile, but if I just add to it at each time there is a sale. People who think they need to get as much as they can each time are the ones that are hurting couponing, and are the ones causing the limits, and frustrating the clerks. I understand the clerks being leary, because it is their job on the line if they mess up accepting wrong coupons.
Every situation is different, if that works for you, you should keep on doing it. There are a lot of veiled accusations on your post and for the sake of not getting into it here and respect for the person who works so hard on this site, I will leave it alone. Happy Couponing!!!!
The coupons are only good for up to $3.00 so it really isn’t bogo free at that price. :(
