Here is the other deal we can expect at Giant starting 10/9. It is a General Mills Catalina.
There are many places that currently have GM coupons available to print:
You can print them here, here and here. Below you will find a list of some of the items and coupons available. I would still check the three sites I posted for more coupons – as this list is not exhaustive. For more inserts coupons, you can check here.
Just a reminder that Giant catalina deals print on sales price. Click below for the entire matchup…

Does anybody have a good senario? I know that the Fun da-middles and the Supreme brownies are NOT part of the promotion (I had them in my senario). So now, I need to figure something else out….
Shannon says
Kristin,
Post going up in about 2 minutes :)
AL says
Just bought 3 of the Boxed Veggies = 3.75
3 Yoplait plus = 6.00
18 Yoplait Greek = 18.00
1 Cinnamon Crunch cereal = 3.00
Total before discounts = 30.75
Used a .60 doubled off veggies – 1.20
Used 3 .55 doubled off Yopl Pl – 3.30
Used 9 .50 doubled off Yop Gr – 9.00
Used a .75 doubled off Cin Cr – 1.50
Subtotal = 15.75
Thats what the register came to.
They said I didn’t deserve the $10 off, so I said I don’t want to argue, just take it all back. Then they gave me $10.
Final for above = 5.75
Kara says
Sounds like a good deal. Many of these products we use on a regular basis anyway. I just wish Giant would double more than I like coupon. I am thinking 2 BC Muffin Mix, 3 BC Brownies, 2 BC Potatoes, 1 BC Cookie Mix, 1 Chex Mix, 2 Old El Paso Dinner Kits, 2 Cresent Rolls, and 2 Go Gurts. Minus the coupons and the $10. Should get it all for $13.98. Hoping this works out:)
Ruth Jenkins says
There must be a lot of new couponers here. The reason the deals at Giant are so good is that it is you can reach 30.00 and use your coupons and you still get your 10.00 off. Unless something drastically changed in the last week, this is the way it has always worked.
Also, always check the taxable amount and deduct that from the required purchase amount. Sometimes items at Giant are coded wrong and this is what it means: the person who codes the prices didn’t put a particular item as part of the deal so therefore those items you purchased might be listed as part of the deal in the paper but the register computer doesn’t recognize it as being part of the deal. This has happened again and again and Giant gets it fixed after they are bombarded with complaints. I’m usually pretty good at figuring out which item was not coded properly, do another order and have the required amount come off.
The customer service employees know very little about couponing and the current deals so usually they will tell you anything they come up with to get you off their back. This is the reality of couponing. There are glitches in the system and you coupon at your own risk. Couponing is a lot of trial and error and nothing is perfect.
Shannon like a lot of us has been doing this for a lot of years so she knows what she is talking about.
Shannon says
Ruth is 100% Correct about what she is saying. I have seen it over and over and over with them not coding something correctly. This is the main reason I wait to shop later in the week :)
Holly says
So, is the consensus it’s $30 before or after coupons – or we have to see if it works at our store?
Jeremy says
I can’t read what general mills cereal is included…can anyone make out what it says? thanks
Tracie says
Just wanted to mention….that my Giant is great at customer service….if there is ever an issue they take care of it without a fuss….there have been timesthat I got a newbie cashier who is unfamiliar about coupons etc….if there is a problem I just ask for my managers (by name) if need be.Get to know your stores and managers and as long as your an honest shopper and are knowledgeable about your deals they won’t want to loose your business! Bring on the scenarios! lol
Jodi says
bought 6 snack n waffles at giant = 15.00 exact so it should of printed out a 5 dollar cat. however i used 6.00 in mc and it never printed.. i went to customer service who told me it has to be met after coupons. and proceeded to force the cat for me .. :) thankfully. which i never liked this stupid rule..
Andrea Jerome says
I’m a little confused…everyone keeps talking about unprinted catalinas, but the ad says “$10 off your order instantly”. Have the cashier hit total before entering coupons, as that’s when the instant savings come off. Also, keep an eye on every price. Sometimes specific varieties are not included (or programmed) and do not ring at sale price or count towards the total.
Shannon says
Andrea,
I think the conversation got sent off track a little, when I said all instant savings and catalinas are before coupons — even the instant savings are part of the Catalina Marketing — which gets even more conusing when you are discussing catalinas vs catalina the company.
Kim S says
I lost out on a deal like this last week. I bought whatever was needed to get $X off instantly and used coupons. I didn’t realize until a couple days later that I didn’t get my additional amount off. I’ve had things like this happen to me several other times and have caught it before leaving the store and the customer service has always fixed it for me. But, I’m tired of having to go to customer service at the end of every shopping trip, especially to fix something when I have a baby and a 3 year old with me.
julia says
I find I really have to check my receipts. This past week 4 diffrent stores overcharged me for a total of $18!! ,3 with shelf prices that did not match scanned prices, and one was $4 off instantly at Weis grocery. It was the buy 8 get $4 off instantly. I had clearly bought 8. When I went to customer service 2 days later they told me it hadn’t been programmed in for that day and made it right. I did get all 4 transactions straightened out but it is frustrtating . So now I check each receipt before I leave the store.
Suz says
Hi, I am a little confused. With this GM deal, can your total reach $30 Before coupons? Because it is an instant savings deal?
And for Catalina deals at Giant, when you spend an X amount to receive a Catalina on your next purchase, your total must reach X amount After coupons?
Thank you very much!
Erin says
I agree with Kayla. On Tuesday, I bought $25 wroth of the freezer deal, had $6 in coupons, and only received the $5 Catalina. When I went to customer service, they said the $25 had to be after coupons:(
Shannon says
Erin,
This is just ignorance by the cashier – when something goes wrong this is their default answer. Do what you feel comfortable with — because ultimately its your money, but most of the time it is lack of knowledge on the part of the cashier/manager. Catalina Marketing is a national company – they are programmed nationally — I betcha if you redid your exact transaction – the catalina probably wouldnt have printed when you didnt use coupons. Kristin M. wrote a comment here, its a good comment — about discounts and coupons.
Ruth says
Some of the comments here will confuse a lot of people.
At Giant for the past YEARS and until last week: You can hit 30.00 use your coupons are get 10.00 off instantly. Unless you made a mistake and picked up the wrong item or there is a store error in programming which occurs often, buy 30.00 worth of product, use your coupons and you will get 10.00 off. The 30.00 target is not after coupons.
Lauren says
I did some math…(hopefully I’m right!!) And if it IS correct, I’m excited!!
Green Giant Veggies: 4/$5 x6 = 24 boxes for $30 – $10 instant – (8) $1 off 3 coupon exp. 11/26 = $12 for 24 boxes!!! = .50 each = MY STOCK UP PRICE!!!!
Nature valley bars: 2/$5 12 boxes = $30- 10 instant – 6 coupons = $14 for 12 boxes = 1.17 a box (19 cents per pack).
(Coupon is $1 off 2 any Nature valley granola bars or nut clusters, exp 11/26
brenda says
The Marcaroni Grill coupon has said error since last week.
Kayla says
There is also a .75 off coupon for the Macaroni Grill Boxed meal (dry) on coupon network :)
kayla says
That’s Leola, sorry
kayla says
At my giant in Leila, an instant savings deal will work with coupons, but often the “save $ on your next order” is after coupons. Anytime it says after discounts, it is after coupons. Which doesn’t make any sense to me, and im pretty sure I’ve done deals before that triggered it before coupons. Thats just what the customer service rep told me, but im still confused. Guess sometimes ya get lucky.
mel says
Really? My store says that includes coupons.
And FYI to anyone that has a Shurfine store near them. They are running a sale on basically these same items that if you buy any 8 you get $4 off instantly. Hamburger helper is only $1 a box (5/$5 but you don’t have to buy five) What I do is buy 24 and use 8 $1/3 coupons
$24.00
-$12.00 instant savings
=$12.00
– $8.00 coupons
=$4.00 for 24 boxes of hamburger helper or $.17 a box!
Shannon says
Mel, I have done every deal I post and its always after coupons unless something is really quirky with the deal.
Stacie says
The Macaroni Grill dry coupon is giving an error right now. Guess I’ll try later? Maybe traffic is high. This sale is awesome!!! Thanks as always Shannon!
mel says
Is there the fine print that says the $30 must be after all discounts?
Shannon says
that doesnt usually apply to coupons :)
Mandy says
So with this current weeks ad “Fill your Freezer Deal” where you spend $25 and get $10 OYNO it also says minimum spend must be met after all discounts have been subtracted……..does that mean after coupons your order still has to be $25?
Julie says
It applies at my Giant. They consider store coupons a discount. So it’s a YMMV situation.
Shannon says
are you shopping Giant in PA? the registers are all programed by catalina marketing so I am not sure how they could be different?
Kristin M says
Store coupons ARE a discount, as it is the store giving you $ off your order (out of their pocket). Manufacturer coupons are NOT a discount, as the store is still charging you full price (store is not giving you a price break out of their pocket). Hope this helps!
I get very frustrated when a cashier tries to tell me a Man. Coupon is a discount.
Julie says
I’ve explained that same exact thing to my local Giant, Kristin. I had a problem with my cashier, went to customer service, they gave me the “manufacturer coupons are included in discounts” line, I asked for a manager. He comes out and tells me the same thing. “Manufacturer coupons are always considered discounts.” I’ve called corporate twice b/c of instant savings deals gone bad, and they tell me that I’m in the right. They’ve contacted this store, but it’s still the same story. It’s Giant in PA, SHannon, it’s on 25th St in Easton PA
