I have received so many emails asking about help for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I wanted to share a few places I am aware of and hope that you will do the same.
FTM is based in the Pennsylvania, and many in PA, NJ and NY have been affected by this hurricane. I can’t imagine what many of them are going through, some losing everything. As I sat here during the storm, I can say I have never been so scared in my life. The wind literally sounded like a freight train coming through our yard. The rain was relentless. However, my immediate area was spared major damage and destruction. Many people were and are still without power and down trees, but it PALES in comparison to the devstation that is being experienced in some areas.
If you would like to contribute to relief funds and collection drives, I wanted to share two that I know that are in my areas:

There are some boxes for clothes, toiletries, and canned goods when you first pull into the Townhomes in Byers Station in Chester Springs. I’m not sure how long they will be there, but they’ve been out since yesterday.

Shannon,
I must say I was exactly where you were, listening to the police scanner as we lost power early monday in the daytime, I was never so scared before either. To hear houses were collapsing around us and wires were coming off houses catching them on fire, and the worst was trees falling on houses, while the fireman was talking to the police about a call, a tree fell on the firehouse. I honestly don’t know how they kept up with everything, it was so scary. As you said we fared well in comparison to so many other people. I have decided to donate a bunch of my stockpile to help these that need it so desperately. I thank you again and everyone else who puts so much work into helping us have a stockpile to start with. And I am very grateful that the worst thing that happened to us was losing power for a few days.
