Google Nexus 10 Review & Giveway
There are so many choices when it comes to tablets these days! Prior to a few weeks ago, I never even knew that Google made a tablet! I *thought* I knew exactly which tablet I would like to have, but boy was I wrong!
I am so excited to share this review of the Google Nexus 10 and giveaway a tablet to a lucky reader. Valentine’s day is just around the corner or perhaps even Mother’s Day – this would make a great gift for any Mom or even for Dad.
If you aren’t familiar with the Google Nexus 10 – it is Google’s newest tablet. It features either 16gb or 32gb and can be purchased on the Google Play store. It really has replaced many functions of my laptop – and it is very portable.
What I Loved about the Nexus 10
:: Gmail, Internet & Much More
I used to be skeptical that I could ever use a tablet in place of a computer. I have found that the Nexus 10 really does a great job. There are some items, I can’t do on this tablet, but there is MUCH more that I can do. I am able to surf the web, view my Gmail.
All of my Google applications are readily available including Google+, Gmail and More.
I was able to add a plethora of apps from Google Play including my favorites:
- Hulu
- Netflix
:: It is a Kindle, a Nook and an Android device all in one.
Somedays I feel like reading a free Nook book, some days I feel like reading a Kindle Book and other days I find something on Google Play. I don’t have to choose and I can take advantage of ALL the book offers. I like having all my books on one device. I have since ditched my old Kindle.
:: The Screen Clarity & Size
With a dazzling 2560-by-1600 (300ppi) display and ultra-powerful graphics processor, Nexus 10’s graphics are pretty stinking amazing. Yes, pretty stinking amazing is a technical term, just in case you wondered. I found myself watching a movie on the Nexus instead of my bedroom 720 HD TV. The size of the screen is perfect for reading and watching movies.
::I Can Share it without Really Sharing It
I like sharing with Evan and Frank. However, I don’t like that Evan can see all my stuff. I also want to limit what he can see. With the Nexus 10, you sign into your own account. You tap your photo to sign in to your own home screen, apps, email, photos and storage.
The multi-user support lets each user have their own separate space, and save their own individual high scores on games, all on the same tablet. This is a HUGE selling point for me. I can let Evan use it on long car rides, without worrying he might see something he shouldn’t.
:: The Map Program
Hello the Map and GPS program rock. I get lost frequently. I hooked this up to my phone’s wifi and used it in the car. But, that is not the coolest feature. Some of the stores on the map, like Macy’s, have a map of the store – like yes, inside the store. Have you ever been in a Macy’s looking for a bathroom? Map it out before you head it.
What I Didn’t Love
There aren’t too many bad things I can say about the Nexus 10.
:: The Screen Size
Wait, didn’t you say you loved the screen size! Yes, I did! It didn’t fit perfectly in my smaller purses – guess I need a bigger bag.
:: Google Play
I am still figuring Google Play out. I wish it would be slightly more user friendly. It just seems busy. I do like the ability to keep it on the cloud or download to device. This is an awesome way to save space.
::Cover
This was an add on, not including with the Google Nexus 10. This cover just wasn’t enough for me. I need something with a little more protection. Sure it is snazzy and clever, but I have a 10 year old boy! If you don’t have a kiddo with grubby hands, you will probably love this neat cover.
So, I have one of these amazing tablets to give away. This giveaway will run for a period of 18 days and you will be able to enter once a day!
