I love a good hearty soup. I love them even more when I can throw the ingredients into my slow cooker and come home to a tasty soup for dinner. This Creamy Chicken Soup Slow Cooker Recipe is one of my favorites. Full of lots of chicken and vegetables, which can be changed up to suit your family’s tastes, it is so satisfying. With everyone back in school and our schedules being crazy as every a good slow cooker soup recipe comes in handy. You can add a salad and maybe a piece of crusty bread to dunk and you have a complete meal.
This soup is super easy to put together. Gather up the main ingredients and layer them into your slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Shred chicken at the end and you have a tasty and filling soup, perfect for a busy week night.

Creamy Chicken Soup Slow Cooker Recipe
Ingredients
- 2-3 large chicken breasts
- 26oz cream of chicken
- 2 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- Optional frozen green peas or string beans
- ½ teaspoon of thyme
- ½ teaspoon of rosemary
- ¼ teaspoon of black pepper
- ½ teaspoon of sage
- 1 cup of water (optional, this makes it thinner)
- ½ cup of milk (add in during final 20 minutes)
- Salt (optional, to desired taste)
Directions:
- Place chicken breasts on the bottom of crockpot.
- Add vegetables and seasonings, top with water and cream of chicken. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on low for 4-6 hours.
- The last twenty minutes of cooking time, add in milk, gently stir everything together.
- Green peas or string beans would be a great add in vegetables to this dish, add frozen peas or beans in when the milk needs to be added
- Shred chicken breasts with two forks before serving.
