Keeping it Simple with Back-to-school Basics
It’s that time again! Back-to-school season is here and Summer is just about over. But, that doesn’t mean you need to go crazy and spend a ton of money to prepare your kids for school. There are plenty of easy ways to get the most bang for your buck. Kmart is one of my favorite places for saving money on back-to-school basics. They partner with a site called Shop at Home which gives you cash back for every purchase made online. Right now, you can earn 5% cash back on every Kmart purchase.
How does Shop at Home work?
It’s free, fast and easy, signing up allows you to find your favorite coupons or deals from thousands of stores (think Macy’s, QVC and Walmart) offering Cash Back through ShopAtHome.com. Then, when you make a purchase, you could earn up to 30% Cash Back on every dollar you spend! Once you’ve earned enough, we send you a check in the mail. Easy peasy!
Here’s why shopping at Kmart is my favorite:
The prices!
Kmart is always having some amazing deals. You don’t have to buy everything in one shopping trip. Wait for the items you are looking for to go on sale and that’s the time to buy them. Right now, if you buy 4 French Toast brand school uniforms you can get 1 for FREE! And you will still earn 5% cash back.
If your kids don’t wear uniforms to school, their kid’s clothes start as low as $5.00 for boys and girls.
The Selection!
Kmart really is a one stop shopping location. You can get all of your back to school basics and needs without running from store to store. Plus, if you shop online like I do, there’s no need to fight the crazy crowd.
The quality!
I have yet to have an issue with anything I have purchased from Kmart. So just because the prices are lower, doesn’t mean the quality is any less. We all know how hard kids can be on their stuff. The brands that Kmart carries are just as rough and tough as the next!
When getting the most for your money stick to the basics and don’t overdo it. Here are the basics to stick to:
- A few outfits to get them started. They do not need an entire new wardrobe. Keep it simple and stick with the necessities.
- School supplies. Your teachers or school should be able to give you a list of exactly what each child needs for their grade. Don’t buy it if they don’t need it.
- A good backpack. My kids are hard on their backpacks and I always make sure I get one that is perfect for their needs. You don’t want to have to buy another one half way through the year when they aren’t on sale.
- Snacks! Wether you needs snacks for sack lunches or for after school. Stock up when they are on sale.
Saving money during back to school shopping is easy. You just have to use the right tools, such as Shop at Home. Getting cash back and using coupons for shopping is the best way to go!
