Understanding Coupon Abbreviations
We have heard that learning to coupon is like learning a new language. Learn a bit each day and you’ll get the hang of it.
If your new to FTM or new to couponing, you’ll notice some coupon talk and and abbreviations used in our coupon matchups and our scenarios. This is a short guide of common coupon talk to get you started.
- BOGO – Buy One Get One Free
- B2G1 – Buy Two, Get One Free
- BR– Balance Rewards – Walgreens Reward Program
- CAT – Catalina – This is a coupon that will print out at the register when you check out.
- DND – Do not Double
- ECB – Extra Care Bucks -CVS Reward Program
- ETS – Excludes Trial Size
- IP -Internet printable coupon
- MIR – Mail in Rebate
- MM – Moneymaker
- NLA – No longer available (means a coupon is no longer available to print)
- OOP – Out of Pocket( otherwise known as the money you will spend out of your pocket)
- OYNO – On Your Next Order (Usually refers to a coupon that can be used the next time you shop- see CAT)
- PSA – Prices starting at
- RP – Red Plum coupon insert from your newspaper
- RR – Register Rewards – Walgreens Reward Program
- SS – Smart Source coupon insert from your newspaper
- TRU/BRU – Toys R Us or Babies R Us
- UPR – +Up Reward – Rite Aid’s Reward Program
- WAGS – Walgreens
- WYB – When You Buy (Typically associated with dollars off when you buy an item)
- YMMV – Your mileage may vary – Means you may or not be able to do the deal depending on your stores policy
- $/$$ coupon – A coupon that requires you to buy a certain dollar amount to get a dollar amount off. For example, $5/$50 purchase.
