The Path to Success: Dove Self-Esteem Project

Post sponsored by Mirum. Contest sponsored by Unilever. All opinions are my own.

Being a mom of two girls, I know how important self-esteem truly is. In fact, it’s arguably one of the most valuable qualities one could ever possess. Self-esteem in teenagers is not often discussed yet could make all the difference in teenage girls. It’s a tough world we are living in and even more so when you’re trying to find where you fit in.

Positive Self-Esteem Starts with You!

For me, self-esteem has gotten easier over the years but is still something I struggle with. Most of us do. I often question my clothing, hair, makeup, skills and so much more. Some days are better than others I suppose. It’s even worse for a young adult trying to figure it all out. No teen should be held back from reaching their full potential. Sadly, low body confidence and anxieties keep young people from being their best selves. This affects their health, friendships, and even performance at school.

This should not be the case! That’s why for more than 10 years, Dove has been helping parents, mentors, teachers, and youth leaders deliver self-esteem education that’s reached more than 20 million young people and counting. We could use more of this in the world.

This year, Dove will be giving $4,000 to a teen nominated for giving back to their community or how the teen inspires confidence. To nominate a teen between the ages of 13-19, take the quiz on shoprite.com/rightonteens, then submit an essay and photo depicting how the teen is giving back to their community or how they inspire confidence.

Nominate your teen!

In addition to supporting the winning individual, the Dove Self-Esteem Project provides a lot of information regarding the Self-Esteem project itself and tools for parents, teachers, and mentors to talk to the kids or teens in their lives about positive self-esteem.

Do you know a teenager who exhibits confidence, leadership and is making a difference in their community?
Give them a chance to follow their dreams and inspire more teens around them with the help of ShopRite! Here is how you can get them entered to win an academic scholarship. Write an essay and submit it, ShopRite and Dove will then select 2 winners per qualifying state (more contest details below).

Last Thanksgiving, my daughter cooked over 50 meals to take downtown and hand out to those in need. It was wonderful to see her so driven to do something to help others. So be sure to celebrate the teens in your life who are making a difference in their communities!
