Keep Your Bathroom Spotlessly Clean With This Bathroom Cleaning Kit
Bathroom cleaning means wiping surfaces daily and deep cleaning weekly in order to prevent illness and infections. Germophobes like me have no problem with cleaning it frequently, but I understand it can be exhausting for other people
I have also noticed that people are more careful when using a clean bathroom. If they find it clean, they leave it clean.
If you deep clean every week, then the daily cleaning tasks will not take more than 5 minutes, which means the more you clean the less you need to clean! This tip my mother-in-law taught me.
The first step in having a clean bathroom is ensuring you have the right cleaning supplies. Take a caddy with different separate compartments and keep the items listed below:
Here is a list of items to stock in your bathroom cleaning kit:
Baking Soda – Bicarbonate of soda—commonly known as “baking soda”—is a wonderful household product. Baking soda has tons of household uses. Stock it up whenever it is on sale. Here is a list of of 101 uses for Baking soda.
Gloves – Wear gloves to keep harmful chemicals from burning and drying out the skin on your hands. Neoprene gloves are the best gloves.
Dishwashing Liquid – We need a multipurpose one that can be used to clean the tub, sink, and any other surface. I use dawn dishwashing liquid to clean the bathroom surfaces.
Microfiber cloths — The microfiber can hold up to 3-4 times its weight of water and can absorb up to 98% of moisture which makes it highly absorbent. Microfiber is able to pick up dirt, dust, and even some bacteria. This is my favorite cloth for cleaning all surfaces, will do a post on the uses of microfiber cloth separately. I suggest keeping a stack in your bathroom cleaning kit and using them to clean and polish everything from shower walls and toilet tops to bathroom mirrors and chrome fixtures.
Old Toothbrush – — A used toothbrush has plenty of housekeeping uses. Soft-bristled brushes can be used as grout-cleaning tools. Here are 37 uses for an old toothbrush.
Vinegar in a spray bottle — Distilled white vinegar can help you fight soap scum and remove toilet rings. Here is a list of the many uses of vinegar.
Glass Cleaner – Use a small amount of glass clear and wipe away with a newspaper to keep the mirror streak-free
Disinfectant wipes — Use the disinfectant wipes to kill germs in obvious places, like the door knob, flusher handles, sink handles and taps.
This is one room you don’t want to go into unprepared to clean. Using the correct tools can really make a difference in your cleaning process.
Make sure you read the product specifications. All-purpose cleaners can be used on sinks and other hard surfaces, but if you have marble, quartz, or granite, only clean them with mild dish detergent and warm water to prevent breaking down the stone’s sealant.
