For Genuardi’s shoppers:
Safeway Inc., the parent company of Genuardi’s, announced today it will sell 16 Pennsylvania supermarkets to Giant and close three additional stores.
The three Genuardi’s stores that Safeway will close are in Royersford, Exton and Norristown, PA. Read more information on Genaurdi’s Stores Closing.

I’ve always thought Genuardi’s was way too pricey! I can’t wait for the Roslyn location to become a Giant, it will save me at least 20 min of driving!!

Although I’m not a Genuardi’s shopper (just ’cause others are closer to me), I’m sad to see them go. They were a family owned business and have been in the area since I was little. I know of many employees who are affected by this news. :(

I heard that Kroger has bought Weis markets and will be changing over after the 100th Weis anniversary. Anyone else hear that?

This makes me sad…although Genuardis hasn’t been what it used to be in recent years, I grew up with Genuardis store #1 in Jeffersonville my while life!

I am pretty happy since I travel 20 minutes to get to a giant. Now I will be centered between the one in Roslyn and the one in flourtown!

No surprise for the Exton store…. it’s always empty in there!

That means no more Genuardi’s in this area.

I wish it was here in South Jersey. I’m dying for a Giant store they have the best deals. I have a Genuardi’s here in Marlton, NJ but they are not on the list.
