There’s a $5/$25 valid 2/18-2/20 and one on 2/22 so you can still get this deal. Check your midweek paper for an in-ad coupon and the Dollar General website for the coupons.

Did the Tide deal at Dollar General and it worked perfect. They took off the $5 off $25 coupon first, then the manufacturer coupons. No problems. Thanks!!! Would love, love, love more DG deals!!

Doreen,
We are working on more DG deals :)

After reading all of these, I am hesitant to try. I will let u know how it works out.
Carolyn says
** Fingers crossed this works for me. I DO like that there is written instructions for the cashier to but the $5/$25 BEFORE MFC. I’ve always had problems with this in the past.
Thanks
Good luck everyone!

Dollar General website, can’t even print the coupon…any suggestions??
Thanks,
Susan

In fine print on the bottom of my coupon it says to use the 5 off 25 coupon first. Then use the manu. coupons.
chilidogs says
Are you sure you’re reading it right? Do you have your reading glasses on?
LZ says
Jen is correct. The $5/$25 IP from the DG website does indeed say to enter it first and then Manufavturer’s coupons, if any.
Jen says
Thank you Liz!!! That’s what they did today and then my manu. coupons wouldn’t work.
LZ says
Yeah – the kicker is that the manufacturer coupons won’t scan regardless of whether they are scanned (attempted scan I should say) before or after the $5/$25 is entered. I have a store that tries to insist that the mani coupons will scan before store coupons and won’t scan after them – hog wash. They won’t scan no matter what! So, you either hunker down and argue for your savings or let the deal go.
I just wish they’d fix the registers.

Hello, I live in Illinois and my dollar general store manager gets my total to $25. then takes off the $5, then my coupons. Yesterday, I paid $12 for 8 bottles of All detergents after my $3/2 coupon and $5 off $25. Guess for once its good to be from a small town!
Shannie says
This was a big headache – but the cashier did get it to all work out – I got a $5 off $20 coupon so I am going to go tomorrow and get more – great price for Tide!! Thanks FTM!!
Jessica says
Wait, did the stock up deal actually work for you? I couldn’t use the $5 off $25 coupon since 9 bottles that are $2.95 only add up to $20.05 before tax. I feel like something went wrong? :[
Jessica says
I think it would have worked had the coupon been $5 off $20 lol then $20.05 would have been $15.05 as the above deal states.
Shannie says
Jessica – make sure you give the $5 off $25 before any other coupons – when the total is over $25 – the $5 off $20 printed at the bottom of my receipt today – I did use the 5 off 25 and it worked – Hope this helps!
Jessica says
Shannie, they wouldn’t let me! They said it had to be scanned after all the other coupons were scanned just to determine if my final price would reach the $25 mark. Damn, I should have let him scan all my stuff first, then only give him the $5 off $25 coupon, then surprise him with the rest of them! Oh well. :[ At least I know for another time.

I got the printed $5 off $25 coupon as well!
Shannie says
I have come to find different stores seem to have their own policies – as do different cashiers!! I had a manager today and she kept apologizing for the headache – it took about 15 minutes if not 20 for me to check out – but she was nice so I just kept smiling!! Dollar General can be a real pain to coupon at – I usually only go there when it’s something I really want! Good Luck!!
LZ says
Don’t let them bully you. Print off the $5/$25 IP from the DG website. The cashier instructions on the lower right hand corner explicitly says to enter manufacturer coupons AFTER they enter the store coupon.
Jessica says
The stock up deal didn’t exactly work out. Since, after coupons the price was $20.05 before tax. Therefore, you can’t use the $5 off $25 coupon. So, I ended up just saving $6.50. Not too bad, but I was expecting to save more. Next time, I’ll do the math first. Lol.
Brandy says
The $5 off of $25 will only come off after all manf q’s. This means that your total AFTER all of your other coupons has to be $25 to be able to use it.
LZ says
Not true. Print off the $5/$25 IP on the DG site and you’ll find it’s to be taken off before manufacturer’s coupons. Cashier instructions on bottom right corner.
Jen says
Just went to Dollar General….WOW…what a mess!! I used the $5.oo off $25.00 coupon and then I had other coupons that matched the items I bought. The 5.oo coupon doesn’t come off in one lump sum. It takes a percentage off each item then my manu. coupons wouldn’t come off. The guys were real nice about and tried but after getting home I am pretty sure it wasn’t rang up correct and I paid more than I should have. Anyone else having these troubles?
Shannon says
Yuck! how much did you end up paying?
Ruth says
I also have trouble with coupons at Dollar General, most of them beep when they scan and they 5 off 25.00 never works. Not sure if it is their coupon processing system but it is really a pain to the point that I hardly shop there.
Jessica says
There guy couldn’t get my scan either, he had type everything in.
LZ says
Yeah. The GS1 databar will no longer scan with their registers. They used to , but they stopped scanning approximately 5-6 months ago. Short UPC-A coded coupons still scan.
If you have a higher value coupon like say a $3/2 they may need to handkey it for $1.50 onto each of the two items if the $5/$25 discounts the items to less than $3.
Lynnette says
Does anyone know how to get the DG 5 off $25 coupon to print?
Anonymous says
If u have a Smart phone they will type in the code if the coupon
Lynnette says
thank you, I don’t have a smart phone, but when I click the print coupon button, it only takes me to the coupons.com page without anything to print.
Shannon says
The Dollar General $5 off $25 should take you to the DG page.. I just tested it?
