Kellogg’s Cereal Recall

June 25, 2010

I know we all have tons of Kellogg’s cereal…

On June 25, Kellogg issued a voluntarily recall of select packages of Kellogg’s® Corn Pops®, Honey Smacks®, Froot Loops®and Apple Jacks® cereals. Consumers should not eat the recalled products because they do not meet quality standards.

You can see the details here.

Thanks, Davina & Melody for the heads up!

I have 3 boxes left in my pantry. We’ve had a recent stomach ailment in the house as well. Never thought it could be the cereal!

For anyone trying to get through on the consumer relations line, when you call it is auto-looping through a list of the products being recalled. To bypass this loop, press 9, listen to it fuss at you for not listening to all the prompts, then be ready to provide: The product you have, quantity, your phone number, name, and address. Hope this helps!

Thanks! I never would have heard about this recall and we had 3 boxes in the house, including one that we’ve been eating from.

I have two big boxes of Corn Pops. Thanks for posting this. This is the first time I’ve ever had something recalled. I’m going to call the number now. Thanks again!

  5. Mandy says:

Love all the recalls on the stuff that is given to children! I think I have been the one to consume most of the Froot Loops though! After hearing about the lead in juice and now this, I am considering really trying to aviod processed foods.

  6. Stephanie says:

We had fruit loops and apple jacks and no prob. We ate both.

  7. Melody says:

We had gone through a couple of the boxes already. My 2yr old and 7 yr old came down with what I fondly term “Linda Blair” syndrome. My 3 yr old didn’t get it as badly, but he’s primarily a Special K eater.

  8. I recently bought Fruit Loops and had a stomach problem right after eating them. I couldn’t figure out what was making me sick until I heard this on the news today. Thanks for the post!

  9. Missyt says:

My son ate a box of Fruit Loops yesterday and he is fine, but he is the human garbage disposal (teenager). Anyone tried to return the boxes to the store? I bought mine at Albertsons and just wondered if that was an option. The employee I talked to tonight didn’t seem to know and told me to call tomorrow.

Just an FYI….I was grocery shopping yesterday and they started clearing everything, so I asked while I was there and they said (Shop Rite) to bring the back (open and unopened) and they will give you a full refund (if you don’t want to fuss with the 800 number).
