Ebay Meets Freecycle = Listia

Listia

That is how I would describe this cool site Listia.  My uber green recycling friend told me about this site.

Here is how it works:

  • A user lists something they don’t want anymore. (like an old TV)
  • Other users bid on the TV using credits they received for signing up, referring friends, or selling their own stuff.
  • When the auction ends, the user who bid the highest amount of credits wins!
  • The buyer and seller arrange to exchange the TV and the cycle continues…

This site is really cool for getting rid of things you DON’T want, while being able to use the credit to buy something that you may want.

The explanation of why this site is so good – for example, you have an old monitor – no one is going to buy it from you on Ebay.  You don’t want to put it in the trash.

There is someone out there who needs a monitor and doesn’t care that it is the size of your entire desk!

You can sign up HERE to get 50 free credits.. and maybe list something, you may make someone’s holiday season. I have a ton of clothes that I will be putting up!

That sounds pretty cool! I’ve become addicted to Freecycle, it’s such an awesome option for re-purposing things you don’t need anymore!

Cool idea for site! I like freecycle too, but Listia is kinda cool because you get a little something back the more you give, great concept!
