Unable to find any McDonalds that were participating in the “Happy Meal for Straight A’s” promo, I contacted McDonald’s Corporate Offices here in Illinois.
Their response was that their promotions, while national, are simply a recommendation and where the stores are independently owned and operated, the owners have the final say.
It is sad that in this day and age, where children are in a highly-competitive world, through no choosing of their own, when they DO succeed with straight a’s all across their annual report card, a corporation like McDonald’s which touts itself as being positive and helpful towards today’s youth, has owners/operators who are not willing to reward children with a great accomplishment like this.
Shame on those independent McDonald’s owners!

My kids don’t get letter grades…they get number grades (4, 3, 2, 1) Does anyone know if they still give these out to kids with “4”s?
Susan says
Andrea, most companies will state in the “fine print” that the grades can be A’s, B’s, or the equal equivalent thereof, which for your school, is number grades. :) I would assume they would honor your 4 in place of an A! :)
