The luck of the Irish… I am sure we all have all heard it said around St. Patty’s day. What does the luck of the Irish really mean? With a name like Shannon and Irish ancestors, you have to wonder!
Shannon is one of those quintessential Irish names. Shannon is borrowed from the name of Irelands longest river, which inherits it name from the Celtic Goddess Siann. (snuck in a little geography/history there).
So with this in mind, I thought it would be interesting to read about the luck of the Irish. Ultimately, I have concluded that the luck of the Irish means winning, succeeding against all odds. The Irish people went thru incredible misfortune, but still ended up strong.
I can say that I have been incredibly blessed and have the “luck of the Irish” most of life. When I decided to stay home with Evan, it was just about impossible for it work financially – but it did. If that isn’t succeeding when all the odds tell you – you can’t , you won’t, I don’t know what is!So now I am wishing you the luck of the Irish– and against the odds, one of you will win this fabulous trip to Ireland. I know many of you just don’t have the budget to do such a costly trip. Wouldn’t that be amazing!
Even if you don’t win, you canwin a year of International Delight Coffee creamer and a Keurig Brewer…. which for some of us, is just as exciting as the trip!
Good Luck!
