Free Snow (again)

February 7, 2010

Yep, generous me is offering you free snow. Must pick up. Bring shovel.

Can you believe there is a large SUV in this picture. My neighbor sent it to me at 6 am yesterday and apparently we got atleast another foot after this.

I am unfortunately stuck in Nashville -flight cancelled .

The joy of Northeast weather.

Good one, that made me laugh! :-)

  2. laura says:

I live in jersey and that’s what our yard looks like! we got approx. 24 inches in our area! First time in my life I can remember the windows having snow and icicles on them!!

  3. Jennifer M. says:

Wow! I live in Arizona and don’t get to see snow very often…..believe it or not we have gotten snow in Tucson but it was always a light dusting, and gone by early afternoon. I can’t even imagine how you guys get out of the house…..it has to be a TON of work!! Thanks for sharing the picture and I hope you are able to get out of Nashville soon:)

OHHH what I would do to be in Arizona… TN is cold right now!

It is no work for me, but lots for my husband!

  4. Jen says:

If you were smart you’d just stay in Nashville lol
I live in Harrisburg, PA and am virtually trapped at home seeing as how the city doesn’t feel the need to take care of the alley behind my house where the garage is. I could probably get out but don’t know where I’d go when I got back because I probably can’t get back to the garage and the street is a mess!

    • Shannon says:

LOL Jen, its cold here too. We can never get out right after a storm. It stinks, I swear the road crews just like to taunt us.

Philadelphia International is only about 5 minutes from my house…we got over 2 feet and it didn’t stop until yesterday afternoon. Good luck getting home!!!

  6. Jaime says:

Ugh. We “officially” only got 6 inches in Bethlehem (which I dispute), but as always, the road crews made it seem as though there was 6 feet. Had a heck of a time driving to church this morning, although the next township over had NO snow on their roads…and it was 3 miles away. Now that the sun is out, it is melting the slush and snow that was not plowed…but no doubt with the temps in the single digits tonight, it will all freeze over. I am so over winter.

  7. Heidi says:

No thanks! Here in Maryland, we got 34 inches. I’ve got enough snow!

  8. Amy says:

I’m in MD too, 30 inches at my house. Isn’t this nuts. It’s the third snow in a week, and we are getting more on Tuesday. We’ve had 63 inches at my house this winter…and thanks to that dumb groundhog, it’s not over, lol!!!

A neighbor showed up with a front-end loader and resuced us this morning…I’m baking him a cake!

  9. Dizzy Mommy says:

I’m in Detroit, and oddly enough we didn’t get hit. I remember growing up and getting huge amounts of snow…. and yet nothing ever closed maybe flights got canceled but not liek the whole airport. A friend of mine lived in Arkansas and got 2 weeks off of school for one or two inches of snow meanwhile we had over 3 feet plus what we already had and it was up to my chest and Im tall.
When I was in high school my dad was transfered to Traverse City at the tip top of Michigan for 2 years… well he was there longer, my husband and I moved back to Detroit when I graduated. (He was from Detroit origenally but his folks moved him up there when he was 14) But anyhow… the snow was insane… there are people who live on the top of hills who have to hike up and down them because they cannot drive up the hills. There are cars parked at the Gas station where my husbands neighborhood started and people would get picked up on snowmobiles (including myself, thank god for my husband being older then me). Nothing closed school ever, nothing closed anything ever… and god forbid a tourist was dumb enough to be there in the winter.

  10. Heather says:

I live in the Eastern Panhandle of WV and we are shoveling out of 34 inches of snow. This is the most snow in more than 25 years! And of course…I didn’t take advantage of the deals on snow boots and am stuck without boots this year!!! You know I’ll be getting them soon!

  11. Tara says:

You might want to be in Southern AZ right now but up North we are getting hammered once again. A couple of weeks ago we got 5 feet of snow and we are working on another foot right now!!! It usually melts off thanks to our wonderful sunshine but I fear we maybe snowed in til Spring at this rate!

  12. Oanh says:

The only freebie I don’t want but thank you. :P

  13. coletta says:

enjoy Nashville while you can!!! Nashville is such a beautiful city and has plenty to offer:) except for all of the snow!!! Hope you have a safe trip home!!!

  14. Heather says:

    SOLD! I’ll take it!

  15. Shannon says:

I have been in my room all day, its cold and dreary here. I wish it was sunny!

  16. Tori says:

I think it’s beautiful, but I live in FL and don’t have to deal with the other headaches that come along with the snow.

  17. lynn says:

AWESOME!! For once we up in Boston got spared!!

  18. Yea, you couldn’t pay me enough to live in that. Could you imagine me trying to do my job in weather like that? Hells no.
