Each year, Rita’s Water Ice offer a free small ice to everyone on the first day of spring.    This year’s free Rita’s Water Ice will be held on Wednesday, March 20 from noon to 9 p.m. at all open Rita’s locations.

    Im a military brat, and have lived all over, currently in the west. I had never heard this term befor- it is too cute!! I thought they were italian ice, shaved ice, etc……….LOL

    What is a Water Ice? Rita’s sells Italian Ice and give those away free each year to welcome spring.

        Nope. No Philly. South FL. Grew up calling it shaved ice, then Italian Ice and now down here it is a Gelati… Had never heard of Water Ice!
