Rite Aid Shop $4.83 Overage

January 11, 2010

Rite Aid CouponI made a quick trip to Rite Aid to take advantage of the SCR deals.

I did not get to do the entire Johnson and Johnson Beauty for All Ages Rebate, because my newspapers had no coupons in them this weekend. Like NONE. No circulars. I was beyond bummed. So have ordered them and will have to hope that later in the week the product is in stock.

On  a side note, Christmas is 75% off at Rite Aid. Included is some of their season sale items, like Betty Crocker pie crusts. I picked them up for $.52 a piece.

This is the scenario I did:

Theraflu $4.99
Contact $4.99
Light Bulbs $2.00
Lubriderm $4.69
Aveeno Lotion $3.49
Total $20.16

Use $5.00/$20 Video Values Coupon
Use $1.00/1 Lubriderm in Ad Coupon
Use $1.00/1 Aveeno In Ad Coupon
Use $2.00 Theraflu Coupon
Use $2.00/1 Aveeno Printable
Use $2.00/1 Lubriderm Printable
Use $2.00/1 Contact Coupon
Paid  $5.16 + tax

Get back: $9.99 SCR

$4.83 overage

(i then bought the pie crusts, so it was a little less overage)

Also, some of you are having a hard time finding the Aveeno lotion here is a picture of what you are looking for:

(the other Rite Aid I went to has this for $3.69, so it may be a little different based on your area)

Aveeno Lotion

I get the News Journal (DE paper) and it had a RP and SS and the Philly Inquirer and it only a SS. I wasn’t sure if that was normal so I check two other stores and the PI only had SS. Did you hear the same thing when you ordered your inserts??

  2. Jennifer says:

I believe the Philly Inquirer has dropped the RP insert. I received it in my mail with the grocery flyers. There had been talk of them dropping it back in February last year, along with several other markets dropping the RP insert. Guess I will really have to start bugging my neighbors now!

  3. JenniferM says:

My RiteAid wouldn’t take the Aveno printable coupon because it was for a “facial lotion” and the item that you have pictured above, which is the one I tried to buy, didn’t qualify. I think the cash register even beeped at her so I didn’t bother trying again with that one. Gave up on that whole transaction but went back today for the Theraflu and Contact. Was able to pick up some medicine for my daughter today as well which put my total right at 20.00 so I could use my 5.00 / 20.00 video coupon. So happy it ended up working out in the end, without the Aveno.

  4. JenniferM says:

Dang! Thanks for the tip. I will have to be more careful which ones I print out.

  5. Cathy says:

…And from where can we ORDER the SS and RP inserts?

    • Shannon says:

      Cathy,

I am going to do a full post on it, because apparently us Philly couponers will no longer be getting the RP.

  6. Karen says:

Does the Johnson Beauty for All Ages Rebate have to be done in one transaction? I thought you said in another post that it did, but you only bought a couple of things here.

    • Shannon says:

      Karen,

This is not my rebate purchase.

My store did not have enough stock. I will have to go to another one.

  7. Lee says:

Thank you so much for giving us your scenario, even including the photo of all the items you purchased! I followed your transaction exactly but noticed the Lubriderm lotion is only $4.29 at my store (not $4.69). Therefore, I threw in 2 Cup-o-Noodles, on sale for 33 cents each. I forgot my $2 Theraflu coupon, but the clerk was kind enough to let me get one from the car and do a post-coupon refund. Therefore, my total was $5.42, and I’ll get $9.99 SCR.

    Again, thank you!

    • Shannon says:

      Lee,

I am going to try and post my scenario with pictures on a regular basis. I think the visual makes it much easier too!

      Glad it helped.

  8. Lydia says:

Yeah, I was wondering this too.

  9. Lydia says:

Sorry, that was to be a reply and it didn’t work (in fact, the replies never work for me). Anyway, I was wondering too about the the rebate being all in one receipt. Does it not need to be?

    • Shannon says:

      Lydia,

There is no number to call on the rebate form, so I am going with the safe assumption of yes.

This is NOT my rebate purchase. My store did not have enough stock for me to purchase everything, so I am going to have to go to another store or wait til Thursday when they restock.

  10. Dot says:

I wanted to thank you for posting the Johnson & johnson rebate I did your previous scenario and I used printables I printed as soon as they showed up on coupons.com. My order came to 32.74 & after q’s it was 7.84 & I am sending in the 10.00 rebate today! thanks! The only thing is my store had clean & clear for 4.99 so my son picked the kind he liked that was 7.54. So I bought 1 instead of 2. But still made out. I will be going out today to try this new deal you posted. Thanks for the visuals does make it easier!

  11. Marco says:

J&J $10 rebate only counts for what you end up actually paying. So sales like bogo or coupons negate that.
