My Rite Aid Trip 04/11 – All Free!

April 11, 2010

I have to admit I didn’t have much of a plan when I went to Rite Aid this morning. I just took  5 copies of the inserts that I picked up at the dollar store and headed over. I got all of this plus Quench lotion for free!

Well, total JACKPOT. These scenarios aren’t for the faint of heart. You have to be willing to get shot down at the register just incase they won’t accept your coupons. My transactions went just fine!

I will give you the easy one first – that you should have no problems with: (note you can find all the specific coupon dates and what inserts they are from here)

  • Buy 1 Crest 3d $2.99
  • Buy 1 Schick Hyrdo (my store did not have these out, I had to ask) $8.99
  • Buy 1 Complete Eye Solution (just happens to be buy one , get one free bonus packs!) $7.99

Total $20.69 (this includes tax)

  • Used $5.00/$20.00 Video Values
  • Used $1.00/1 Crest

Paid $14.69

  • Get Back $6.99 Schick
  • Get Back 7.99 Complete
  • Get Back $2.00 Hydro

  • Used (3) $5.00/2  Benadryl in 04/11 RP
  • Used $5.00/$25.00 Printable

Note: This rebate says after all coupons – however, it is going thru for many with the coupons, I will update you when mine clears.

Transaction #3

This is a YMMV depending on your store letting you use multiple ad coupons

$0.00 this transaction (there was some overage, but I am counting that towards stamp cost)

Transaction #4

I didn’t do this transaction while I was on first trip. Had to run home and print $5.00/$20.00 from husbands VV account.

  • Buy 10 Ziploc Slider Bags $1.99

Total $21.18 with tax

  • Used 5 BOGO Ziploc Coupons from 04/11 SS

If I have two rebate items on the same receipt, I just photo copy the receipt for the number of rebates I have, cut the original in half to send with each full photocopy, and write a note that I had two rebates to send in. I’ve gotten rebates back all three times I’ve done it. I did it for two Olay rebates and one that I can’t seem to recall at the moment : )

  2. michelle says:

Do you know if you can submit a photocopied receipt for the SC Johnson? I bought the Quench and Ziploc on the same receipt! I should have split it up but I thought I remembered reading the SC Johnson one didn’t require the original receipt. Any help would be great!

  3. Jenna says:

I was going to add this comment as well… I used these tonight and wellness in my area doesn’t roll out officially til the18th- but they have always accepted my wellness Q. I did the 6 boxes of benadryl and use 3 $5 mq, 6 $2 wellness q, and the $5 off $25 and made it a SUPER sweet money making deal! :) I love RA! :)

  4. Anu says:

Thanks for checking for me Shannon, so weird that I still do not see it. I checked a minute back.

  5. Denise says:

    Hi Shannon,

YES! A post about understanding and organizing rebates would be ever so helpful. There are many components with potential questions.

First there are many dates to remember and I wonder how to organize them best. There are purchasing window dates, the submission dates, and the postmark dates. You can’t miss any of these! I thought about organizing the forms I print by dates, but by which ones?

Second, should you regularly get mulitiple receipts when you shop each time just to keep in case you need the receipt for more than one rebate (say you have the SC Johnson and the Olay purchase on ONE receipt…you’re required to have originals for both)?

Third, a way clearly understand how to read rebate forms. Comparing the Olay vs. SC Johnson rebates, alone, I read them and although they have similar writing, you may submit 3 to SC Johnson, yet only one to Olay (thanks for letting me know).

Finally, Rite Aid’s SCR’s are another area that could use a little clarification. They state online that you may only request one rebate check per month, so how do you combine them (I haven’t done this yet) if you have more than one in a month?

I may have overlapped multiple issues here, but it is all part of, at least, my confusion with trying to learn the rebate system. Any of these would be great to include if you choose to write a post about this topic.

Thank you for all of your help!

    Blessings,
    Denise

I checked Redplum it was not there, probably they ran out of it. But I downloaded the .pdf from one of your earlier posts. Thanks for that.
Just wanted to check if 3 off 15 is also available ?

  7. Holly G says:

Has anyone had any issues yet about the BOGO pack of the Complete Eye solution qualifying for the SCR? The UPC # is different on the ones that I bought than a single pack.

  8. Jan says:

I can’t find the BOGO on the ziplock coupon either!

  9. Anu says:

Hi Shannon, I saw you using “$5.00/$25.00 printable”. Can you paste the link where it can be found. I could not find it on coupons.com. Don’t know where else to search. Thanks in advance.

  10. Jan says:

where do you get the 5/25 coupon from riteaid

  11. Holly says:

    Thanks!
I ran in this morning on my way to work. I was running late anyway due to traffic and thought it would be best to go before I start the day.

I didn’t have the Quench coupon with me which would have helped! The price of the normal size Quench is $7.49 at my store and I could have gotten the smaller cream version for $5.99 but wasn’t sure about the rebate qualifications. Must remember to check next time. I’ve never done an Olay rebate before.

    1 Olay Quench $7.49
4 Ziploc Easy Slide Storage bags $1.99
    1 Complete contact solution $7.99
    23.44
    -$5/$20 Rite Aid Adperks
    2 B1G1 coupons for Ziploc bags SS 4/11 -$1.99 and -$1.99
    $15.38 used GC
    Will get back:
    $7.99 for Complete
    Fill out rebate for $7.49
Cost $.34 after $.44 stamp for Rebate!

My mind was racing since I had to get to the office and since everything worked out I didn’t ask the cashier for an extra receipt. Has anyone done that before at Rite Aid? I wish I could submit for the Ziploc deal too. That would be an additional $5.00. Oh well!

One thought is if I get a couple more of those coupons then I could do the large deal in another transaction.

  12. REBECA says:

sorry I know you buy them, but do you buy them from sunday paper, or somewhere else? sunday paper in RI is $3 each so it gets expensive to buy more.thanks

  13. Tina says:

I was able to use the Canadian coupon for Complete solution here in Sacramento :) !! Our Crest 3D White is priced at $4.99 and I’m almost positive our Benadryl is priced higher too. I will confirm today.

I’m waiting to see if your rebate clears with Transaction #2 before i go out and purchase it. If it’s after all coupons that would be a horrible blow for us Recessionista’s :)

  14. Holly says:

    Hi Shannon,
Thank you for your transactions. I really hope my store will have the contact solution better yet the B1G1 pack. It usually goes quickly at my stores. I might run in tomorrow and try. I just thought of a sceniero and wondered what you thought:
    1 – contact solution $7.99
    1 – Quench $4.99 (Use Rebate form and get back $4.99 – $.44 stamp)
    4 – Ziploc bags $1.99 each
    $20.94
    Use $5/$20 from Adperks
-$1.00/1 Olay Quench Hand & Body Lotion, Any Excluding Trial Size – 03-07-10 PG
    Use 2 B1G1 Ziploc coupons 4/11/10 SS
    $10.96 OOP
    Get $7.99 Riteaid Rebate
    Request $4.99 Quench rebate
    Profit $2.02 – $.44
You could ask the cashier for an extra receipt. I haven’t ever done that at Rite Aid and then put $7.96 Ziploc bags towards the Ziploc rebate.

  15. REBECA says:

Hi, I love your website its a big help, thanks
I wanted to know how you get so many copies of the coupons?
    THanks
    Rebeca

  16. Lara says:

I got 2 RP inserts and neither had the Visine coupons(the one I really wanted) and I can’t find it on RP site. Anyone know a zip code that would work. Maybe they are all gone too. I hope not. Hubby uses this everyday! Thanks for all the help. Lara

  17. Kris says:

Wow, I came up with a scenario for the Bendryl that is a huge money maker but can’t wait to go and do the other deals that you did. This is going to be a great week at Rite Aid.

    Blessings,

    Kris

  18. MandM says:

Beautifulfrugallife (I think this was the site) posted that they are now accepting coupons/the program nationwide now and you can register on-line. It may be worth a shot to call your local RA and find out.

    • Shannon says:

      @MandM,
      M and M,

This is not correct. I spoke with Rite Aid PR the day that she posted it and they said that is not the case. The program is not scheduled to roll out nationwide until end of April. Also, my DM said he is reprimanding anyone who accepts them. So I am skipping on suggesting it to readers.

  19. MandM says:

Hey Shannon – I went ahead and bought the visine…Keep your fingers crossed it counts, and if so, I will be back for more. Plus, not sure if you know this, but the RA site under wellness is offering a $2 off q on any allergy purchase of $2.99 or more!!! This will make your deals even better!

    • Shannon says:

      @MandM,

Yeah but Wellness is so limited, doesn’t help most of us, so hopefully it will be rolled out nationally soon.

  20. Kristen says:

Wondering if the Buy 1 Get 1 pack of Complete contact solution will work for the 7.99 rebate. I have had problems with “bonus packs” (20% more free, etc) qualifying for rebates.

I hope so! Awesome shopping trip :)

  21. amy says:

so i just bought the daily local, but it had the SS in it. Is there also supossed to be a RP? maybe i’m missing it. it’s the sunday daily local right? I bought it in downingtown, pa.

  22. sherrie says:

Awesome job!! I LOVE Rite Aid. I have gotten the best deals over the last year – it is SO much easier than rolling at WAGS, and it is defn easier than CVS, besides I dont get any more $/$$ at CVS, so I have learned the Rite Aid way!! I got free zyrtec last fall, I am getting diapers and J&J products for free/pennies, not to mention all their other amazing deals. Awesome job!

  23. Denise says:

    Hi Shannon,

With the Olay rebate, can you submit more than one? It says one per name per address per envelope on the form. Does that mean you can submit mulitples?

I started couponing in January and have finally seen some fruits of my labor in the last month or so, but now I’m trying to learn the rebate system. It is confusing to this newbie. I wish there was a uniform system. Can you offer any guidance on how to tell what is a single and what offers more? Also, how do you keep your rebate forms organized? I have a feeling I’m going to miss one at some point.

And just a quick note, although you are on the east coast while I am on the west, and while I often find I am jealous of the doubling and tripling I hear about as well as different stores and the deals you all enjoy, your site gives terrific info that I can use anywhere. I so appreciate your site and all the work you do! Congrats to you, Momma! :)

Have a super day (although can it get ANY better after that Rite Aid trip?),
    Denise

    • Shannon says:

      @Denise,

      Hi Denise,

The Olay rebate is one per household.

I think I need to do a post on rebate organization? What do you think?

  24. Kristin says:

Wow! Good job! I go to Rite Aid every week and love how much we save there with the SCRs. Our favorite Rite Aid worker told us today that Rite Aid will be rolling out with a new rewards program soon where you get a loyalty card and points for purchases :) Looking forward to that since we go there all the time!

  25. amy says:

can you get extra RP inserts at the dollar store, which paper has it?

  26. Amanda says:

My newspaper didn’t have a redplum insert just the smart-source . where did you get those ziploc bogo coupons???

  27. Awesome Job! Thanks for the idea on the benedryl! I’m gonna have to grab these for summer- we use them up quickly:)

  28. Carolyn says:

thanks for the great deals. I don’t shop Rite Aid..but you are starting to make me feel like i should!

  29. MandM says:

Will the visine count towards the allergy rebate (spend $50 get $25)? Thanks!

  30. Kristin says:

Awesome, awesome! My littlest dog Elle takes a Benadryl with every meal (twice a day) so this is super awesome. :)

    • Shannon says:

      @Kristin,

My son is taking 4 tablets a day! This is a huge money saver for me! I will let you know if it comes up towards the rebate.

  31. Meredith says:

You can submit 3 SC Johnson rebates per household (for 9 items), so you can technically get $15 back! (unless you’ve already used one for another item).
Also, it says at the bottom of the rebate that all 3 must be sent in separately, but since I only had one receipt, I called and they said I could send it all in one envelope, just with 3 forms.
    Awesome deals!!

    • Shannon says:

      @Meredith,
Meredith, I am down to just one left. I used it on Windex and Scrubbing Bubbles, but good for everyone else to know!
