Jared’s Diapers Stock & More Huggies Deals

June 15, 2010

Reader Jared sent me this great picture of his recent Huggies score. Jared is a new Dad, so he has a few years ahead of him.  I am sure his stock has grown since the new clearances at Rite Aid.   I wish my husband was as deal conscious as Jared is.  Maybe Jared will send us his updated stock of  Huggies.

So if you haven’t accumulated a nice stash like Jared, here are some more deals for you!

Cassie at the Thrifty Couple discovered that you get a $1.00 UPR with each Huggies Diaper purchase this week at Rite Aid. So she bought 5 packs and received $1.00 UPR for each one she purchased, even the ones in the same transaction!  She ended up paying $2.49 a pack for the diapers. This makes those Huggies deals even better. Thanks Cassie for letting us know!

Ada, I never had a problem exchanging diapers as long as I returned them to the store where they were bought. This was almost 3 years ago (my oldest will be 3 in August), but I would think the policies would still be the same. I never had receipts either, so you’ll definitely be fine if you have the receipts.

OK, did my second transaction today and it went smoothly.

I got the rite aid baby wipes and 2 packs of huggies.

After work I went in to do the 3rd transaction, but my plan failed me miserably.

I was thinking of getting my last jumbo pack (out of 5) and also ordering the mousepad for 12.99$ (I had the rite aid coupon to get it for free). So my total would have been 12.99+8.99 = 21.98 – 5$ off 20$-1$ UP-1$ Rite Aid Huggies coupon-3$ huggies coupon -12.99 rite aid coupon = overage??

Anyways, I could not order the mousepad at the store, because the lady was bitching that they don’t accept the coupon, but I had to order online.

So since I needed my last jumbo pack, I went and browsed the store for a ‘quick’ deal. Here’s where I messed up.

I got the reach toothbrush for 4.79 and it said 3$ SCR in there (well turns out they did not remove the sticky, this offer was only valid until 6/12)

I got the johnson and johnson cloth tape for 4.49 it said 3$ SCR (online I read that this was when you purchased 2 of these, but the yellow sticky on the item did not say that). So I paid 9$ for items that I don’t really need. Yeah toothbrushes I need, but I don’t buy that brand. And I got plenty of first aid stuff.

So here’s my question, can I return these items back and still get the prices with the coupons that I scanned? They scanned the 5$ off 20$ (order was a total of 23$) , or will they pro-rate the prices…how does this kind of return work?

    Thanks.

BTW, is it difficult to exchange diapers for a different brand/size in stores without a receipt? I’m thinking that as long as items aren’t discontinued they should be able to accept them, right?

  4. Ada says:

Robin, thank you for all the advice. I’ll tape the receipts to the boxes so that I can easily exchange them if it does not work out.

A word of caution on stocking up on diapers…you never know what brand is going to work for your baby. When I had my first I was all set to put her in Huggies. I had so many diapers stocked up before she was born. But it turned out that she leaked out of Huggies all the time! It was really bad. Thankfully I was able to exchange most of them for Pampers. She never had any problems with the Pampers. I would suggest that you keep track of where you buy the diapers so you can exchange them if you need to. And as far as sizes go, I agree with the others who commented. Maybe buy some size 1′s, but get mostly 2′s and up (unless your baby is small at birth…my girls wore size 1 until they were 6-7 mos old!).

  6. Ada says:

Jen, same thing happened to me. Only 1 UP reward. The small print said 1 UP reward per transaction.
Someone on another site had posted she got 2 UP rewards on one transaction. Maybe they noticed the glitch and fixed it…

  7. Jen T says:

I went to Rite Aid today and purchased 3 pkgs of diapers. Only got one UP+ reward for $1, not 3 for $1.

  8. Jen T says:

Do we know what the limit is yet on this deal? =) I’m assuming a one box limit.

  9. Amanda P says:

    Ada,
You’ll probably get lots of size newborn and 1 (I did) at your shower(s), so I’d shoot for size 2 and up. At least 250 diapers of each size. My first is only in size 2 right now, so I don’t know if you’ll need more than 250 for the bigger sizes. I’m guessing he’ll stay in the bigger sizes longer.

  10. Valerie says:

Ada, I’d stock up on 2′s and 3′s. For both of my children I received a lot of newborn and size 1s at my showers and the hospital. 4s will hang around the house too long before they are used.

I can’t get over the diaper deals lately. So, many great deals :)

  11. Ada says:

Wow, I’m expecting my first and am lurking on the diaper deals now.
It is great to see so many dedicated people on these deals.

Any suggestions on what sizes I should start stock on first?

  12. Terri says:

At Rite Aid yesterday, I purchased the Mega pack of Huggies on clearance and did not get a UPR. Looks like the UPR is only for the Jumbo pack, in case anyone was wondering.

  13. Mel says:

That picture makes me feel not so bad!! I have 6 jumbos and 17 megas in my closet!!! Yikes! And am thinking about going back to see if they still have the 3 packs they had yesterday!

  14. Marlene Eimer says:

How do you guys get so many and save. I’m a mom of 5. Wew spend a fortune on diapers and always run out! Help!!

  15. John says:

Yesterday I reived a CRT from the coupons machine at CVS good for $3 off a Huggies Big Box. AFter coupons and ECB’s I’ll pay $3.99 for the big box!!!!!!

  16. Lauren Manzer says:

is it bad that my stockpile is two times…maybe three times larger??? i have 2 in diapers so i have an excuse!

  17. sherrie says:

I have a stockpile similar to his and I’m not a new mom! :) Diapers make a great baby gift, and I feel great giving several packs. And maybe someday I’ll add to my brood of 4 and wont have to worry about diapers for a long time! (I have quite a stockpile of wipes, too!)

  18. Jillian says:

Great Job Jared!! My stock is significantly less, but, I have several big packs stacked up in my closet too! Way to go!

  19. Michele says:

YAY! I love seeing stockpile pictures.

I found two mega packs and I bought the pantene and OS wash. After SCR the total is $5.48. I didn’t get a Up’s b/c they are mega packs but so worth it. I now have 12 packs of jumbos and two megas.

Now to work on some smaller sizes for shower gifts.

  20. S.Carter says:

    I have a 3.00 CRT ! Wootwoo! 3.99 for a box is a deal and a HALF!
