Rite Aid: J & J UPR Scenarios

July 30, 2011

I am working on the Rite Aid deals, but wanted to share my scenario for the J&J Deal first. You can see my Oral Care Scenario here.

There are so many ways that you can take advantage of this deal.  This idea is just to get you a little of each product. You could go with all Bengay and make a profit. However, I can only use so much Bengay.

Note: This deal starts tomorrow and does not take into consideration discounts.

If you want to do the Bengay deal (valid tomorrow only

Buy Bengay $5.99
use $2.00/1 in ad coupon
use $3/1 Bengay Product,  (RP 05/22/11 or 6/19)
Pay $.99 after both coupons

You would have $5.99 towards the J&J deal. This deal should track, so you could do 6 transactions and pay $5.94 and get $10.00 UPR .

  1. Erin says:

does this listerine count towards the oral care and the j&j UPR? I bought the 3/$12 yesterday and it only tracked for my oral care and not the j&j. was hoping to clear another $30 for the j&j today.

  2. Anna says:

    Bought (3) Listerines @ $4.00 each
    Bought (1) Bengay @ 5.49
    Bought (1) Bengay Cold Therapy @ $8.99
    Bought (1) J&J Baby Bedtime Lotion @ 4.49
    Bought (1) J&J Baby Bedtime Soap @ $2.24 (50% off second)
Used (1) $5/1 Bengay Cold Therapy
Used (1) $3/1 Any Bengay Product
Used (1) $2/1 Rite Aid Ad Coupon for Bed Gay
    Used (1) $2/2 J&J Bedtime Products
    Used (4) $1/1Listerine coupons
Used $4 UPR from Prior Transaction

    Paid $16.12 (13.21 + 2.91 tax)
Got $10 UPR for wyb $30 select products

So I paid about $6 for all those items. Would have been around $10 if I didn’t have a $4 UPR from a prior transaction. Probably could have done a bit better but I bought the products I really needed rather than the absolute best deal.

  3. Beth Ann says:

I was only able to print one Bengay coupon ($3/1) so that hinders my scenario a little, but here is the best one I was able to come up with for my shopping trip tomorrow; going to a different Rite Aid from my usual so hope it works out well and they have my items in stock! Here’s my plan: 2 Listerine Antiseptic Mouthwashes, 1 Listerine Cool Blue Smart Rinse, 1 Bengay, 4 BandAids, and that leaves me $2.01 short so I’m hopeful I can find either a pack of OB or Carefree for as close to that as possible since I have coupons for both; if not I’ll just get an Aveeno Baby Lotion or Wash (I have a $1.00 coupon) and just absorb the extra cost as that is something that we really go through alot of. Assuming I can find something for just over $2.00, my total out-of-pocket cost after coupons and UPR should be between $5.00 and $6.00… not as great as I hoped to find but not too bad!

  4. Lorena says:

Since I am new, I feel like it’s taking me SO much time to figure things out, but I think I may have put together a good one this weekend, starting tonight:

    Transaction 1:
    Bought (2) Bic Soleil @ 4.99
Used (2) $3/1 Bic Soleil MQ
    Paid 3.98
    Got $2 UPR

    Transaction 2:
Bought (3) Carefree liners 42 count @ 1.50 (had raincheck)
    Bought (4) Bengay @ 6.49
    Used (4) $5/1 Bengay
    Used (4) $2/1 RA in ad Q
Used $1 UPR from Transaction 1
    Used .50/1 Carefree MQ
    Paid $.96
Got $10 UPR for wyb $30 select products

    Transaction 3 (tomorrow 7/31!):
    Buy (4) Crest Pro Health @ 4/$20
    Buy (1) Oral B at 5.99
    Use (4) $2/1 Crest
    Use (1) $3/1 Oral B
Use $10 UPR from Transaction 2
Use $1 UPR from Transaction 1
Try to use my last $3/$15
    Pay .99
    Get $10 SCR from Crest
Get $2.99 SCR from Oral B
Get $5 UPR wyb $25 oral health

Phew! I got thru the first two; let’s see if I’ve calculated everything right for the 3rd one! Thanks Shannon!

    • Shannon says:

      Lorena,

I try not to show the UPR twice, because it really does confuse the numbers. So really if you look at it without telling us how you paid would be a better way to see the transaction.

    • Shannon says:

      NIce! :)

      This is a great deal

  5. Kati says:

You can go to the Johnson & Johnson Website and print off coupons for baby wash and lotion.

  6. Cynthia says:

Anyone knows if the Johnson and Johnson naturals are part of this deal? I still have 2/$1.50 printable coupon from a few weeks ago

  7. Carol says:

I plan on “finally” using my $3.00 cortaid coupons towards this.:)

  8. Alexis says:

How about this? I just tweaked the 2 deals you posted according to what coupons I had…

    Buy (2) Listerine $8.00
    Buy (2) Clean & Clear $8.23
    Buy (1) Bengay $5.99
    Buy (2) Stayfree $5.98
    Buy (1) Viactiv $5.99
    Total $34.19
    use (2) $1.00/1 Listerine Coupon
use $1.00/1 Listerine Video Values August
use (2) $2/1 Clean & Clear Product printable
use (1) $2.00/1 in ad Bengay Coupon
    use (1) $5/1 Bengay Product, exp. 9/30/11 (RP 06/19/11)
    use (1) B1G1 Stayfree Product, exp. 8/30/11 (SS 06/26/11)
    use (1) $2.00/1 Viactiv in 5/8 SS
use (1) $1.00/1 Viactiv Video Values
    Total after Coupons $14.20
    Get $10.00 UPR
    $4.20 Total or $0.52 each

  9. Lorena says:

Hi Shannon – I feel stupid, but I’m not sure what overage you mean on the crest transaction? Do you mean the possible overage from the bengay?

  10. Lorena says:

My in-ad coupon says one per customer. Does that mean I can only buy one, or one per day, or one per transaction, or is it up to my store’s discretion? Thx!

    • Shannon says:

Store discretion, but i have never ever had a store not let me buy more than 1 or in separate transactions.

  11. Cynthia says:

So in the first deal, you will pay $1.96 after coupons but you will get $8 towards the oral care deal? Can I apply the 10% discount on the listerine and bengay?

    • Shannon says:

Right, but, the Oral Care is only once so you might be better off doing the Crest for the oral care, making that free. What I plan to do is one big transaction to use up the overage on the crest transaction.

  12. Rosann says:
  13. christine says:

If I buy multiple Bengay, using in-ad coupons, do I have do have a separate transaction for each? Also, the $2/1 aveeno coupon is back on Recyclebank for 100 points…in case anyone is going to buy aveeno…

    • Shannon says:

      Chrstine,

Most stores will allow you to use one or two in ad coupons, I am not sure about using 6 though.

      • christine says:

Thanks! Yikes, 6 Bengay..I was thinking about getting 2 because I have two $5/1 coupons and it would reduce my oop expenses :) I’m having the same Bengay problem – can’t donate it and the only person I know who uses it is my step-father, who is already well-stocked thanks to deals like this! Thanks again, I’m loving these scenarios you’re posting!

  14. D says:

Can you use as many bengay in-ad coupons that you want?

    • Tami R. says:

D, I believe it depends on your store. Mine does let me use multiple in-ad coupons.

  15. Stephan says:

I have four 5/1 IP Bengay coupons, that will become an awesome MM :) looool

    • Shannon says:

Stephan, I dont think I can buy another box of Bengay. LOL. No where will take it as a donation and I have far to much – giving it to my Mom who has knee trouble.. but if I buy anymore it could be considering hoarding LOL.

      • Stephan says:

Haha Shannon, I used to have plenty as well! But one of my friends does martial arts, so he gets bruised up pretty often and uses it. And I sold the rest at a flea market. Worked out :)

      • tiff says:

Donate it to the military!! When the tylenol precise coupon was active with free precise at rite aid and they ran out, a military couple was there trying to buy some before he got deployed and said that they need stuff like that over there. Just a thought. It would be greatly appreciated by our soldiers :)

        • Shannon says:

Our donation center here for the military will not take the bengay either. I have tried everywhere!
