For the first time in weeks, I headed out to Rite Aid! I was so excited to be back into couponing. I am sure many of you fell off the wagon – concentrating on the holidays in November and December. It is time for me to get serious again!
So the first thing I wanted to do is find out if all the rumors we have heard were true. Well, in my case they were not! Rite Aid went off without a hitch and I rolled my UPR. Now, I did notice that it said “In some markets” on the inserts. It will be interesting to hear the reports. Just as a quick reminder, I got the regional insert this week.
Here is what I did:

I went into Rite Aid the other day and the gentleman working read me a memo he received regarding the $100 deal. It said that the vanilla visa cards will not generate the $20 EB anymore. We were unsure if buying the amazon gift cards or restaurant cards would trigger it or not. I was VERY disappointed. We are in Louisville, Ky. :(

The Vanilla Visa gift card deal seems to be dead. A friend got one the other night and I went in to get one this morning. I paid, it didn’t work, the manager checked it out, and he said they received something saying the deal in the ad was a typo and they would not give out the $20 up. He did refund my money.
jen says
i just did this a few hours ago and didn’t get the $20. the manager called and they said they would mail me the $20. i then bought the pro-nutrients and they now show tracking. the manager thinks that i could actually get the deal twice! i won’t purposefully try to, but if i get to $100 and get another $20, i won’t complain!!! my manager also said that he will not go by the expiration date of 2/11/12 on the +up that i get in tha mail since i should have had it today and was planning on using it today.
AGnes says
i had a situation once where the UPs did not print and the cashier asked the Mgr if she could give it to me in cash and the Mgr said yes. So, it’s worth asking so you don’t have to call CS and wait for the check to come in the mail…
Megan says
Where is it listed that you get UPs for the Kool Patches? I bought two today and no UPs. Not sure as they look the same as the ones shown in your picture. Thanks…love the blog! :)
Shannon says
Megan — they are part of the regional ad I listed..

Megan says
The Pro-nutrients coupon says 1 per purchase. Did they let you use 2?
Shannon says
Megan 1 per purchase means 1 coupon per item.

Happy New Year Everyone! Quick question, has anyone had any problems with getting the $20 UPR after purchasing less than $100 on the Vanilla Visa Gift card? Today, I bought $50 on the Vanilla Visa, then in my second transaction, I spent another $50 in qualifying purchases and hit the $100. The $20 UPR didn’t print, it said on the bottom of my receipt that I only had $97 in qualifying purchases. We went over the receipt and I did in fact, have (over) $100 in qualifying purchases. So the cashier asked if I would purchase another $3 in qualifying purchases to test it, and I did, and again, the $20 UPR didn’t print and the bottom of my receipt still said I only had $97 in purchases. So I returned the $3 in “test” purchases and she said the manager would be in tomorrow, and I could speak to her. Just curious if this happened to anyone else? Thanks!! Happy New Year!

I bought a $100 vanilla visa gift card today and my $20 UPR didn’t print. I am going to contact RiteAid themselves to see if they will send me the UPR in the mail. Man, why do I have such problems with RiteAid?
Ashley says
Yeah, that is what happened to me today, too. I only have problems with UPR’s printing at ONE rite aid. I called and they said it would be in the mail.. only bummer is i was planning on using for this week! bummer! :(

I can’t get my computer to go to the video values page today…anyone else having a problem with their site? I seem to be able to go everywhere else online… THanks!

Vermont does not have the Vanilla VISA Cards. No luck here on that great deal…
Katie says
I did the Visa Gift card and it was definitely the most painless way to get that $20 UPR. :)
Renee says
Did you have to pay cash as was mentioned in one of these comments?
Katie says
Nope, didn’t have to use cash. I purposely used a credit card that I get cash back on so that it would make it even more of a money maker (and then I’ll just pay off the charge tomorrow when it posts).
Jen T says
Is the $20 resolution reward a one time deal or can you get the $20 multiple times?
Shannon says
one time.

Where did you find excedrin that cheap? It was 5.29 in my store

HNY everyone, I’m am thinking about getting the gift card deal too. Hi Shannon, have you tried the new Load2card program Rite Aid started today? If so Shannon, can you help me out with something, these ecoupons-can they be stacked with paper coupons?
Shannon says
Shanta,
no I havent tried it yet. There are mostly rite aid coupons – I am trying to see how these coupons affect me printing other coupons – I dont want to be tied to using them at rite aid.

I will not be purchasing the gift card…since we have till Jan 28 to get to the $100 to earn $20….I figured I can roll my +ups for a while….my question is …Can you only earn one Resolution Rewards?

I just did the Vanilla $100 Visa Card deal & got my $20 UPR. The $100 card is black & has a gift box design. Just a heads up – at my Rite Aid I had to pay in cash for my gift card. Luckily my bank is in the same shopping center as the RA & I could run over to the ATM. If you’re not so lucky you might want to make sure to take the $105.95 with you. By the way I use these cards to grocery shop, for car repairs, etc.. There have been no chares aside from the purchase fee ($5.95) But you have to know how much is on the card. If there is &50 & you try to charge &51.00 the card will be rejected. Good hunting!
Rian says
Does anyone know if this deal is rolling in the Philadelphia area? Thanks
Kathie says
Sent my daughter this morning to get the Vanilla Visa Card. The activation fee was only $5.95, so it’s a $14.05 money maker!
Lisae says
I’m planning on buying the Vanilla Visa Cards. I know there is a fee to purchase, but is there a fee to use them? If not, why not buy them, get the $20 UPR and use the Visa Cards for gas, groceries, etc.? Seems like a win-win :)
Shannon says
Lisae,
I am too!
Shannon says
whoops, I am too, I just wanted to get over before all the good products were gone. my debit card is missing and I need to wait for my hubs to get home for some money! LOL
Lisae says
Oh no! Hope you find it :)
Christine says
Yes, $4.95 so it’s a $15.05 Moneymaker!!!! The cashier was very impressed and the manager said, man i don’t understand this company when they just give money away…happy new year!
