This is just a fun play on the classic chocolate tuxedo strawberries! These would make a fun valentines gift or party favor.

Strawberry Tuxedo Cookies
Sugar Cookie Cut Outs ( or use a sugar cookie mix)
3 1/2 cups of AP Flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup (two sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 large egg
1. Cream together butter and sugar.
2. Whisk together dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
3. Mix egg and vanilla into the sugar mixture.
4. Add flour in 3 stages into sugar mixture until combined.
5. Form into a disk, wrap in parchment or plastic wrap, and refrigerate until firm.
6. Tape a piece of parchment onto your workspace and spread some flour onto the paper.
7. Spread some flour on your rolling pin and roll out to a 1/4 inch thickness.
8. Cut out an equal number of hearts. Cut a small heart out of half the hearts. Re roll out dough if needed.
9. Bake at 350 for 5-7 min. or until the edges just start to tan.
Decorating
White chocolate 4oz.
Semi sweet chocolate 4oz.
1 jar of good quality strawberry jam
1. Melt the white chocolate slowly in a double boiler or a bowl over a pan of simmering water until smooth.
2. Spread white chocolate over the bottom 3/4 of the heart with the cut out coming down into a v under the small heart.
3. Let chocolate cool.
4. Spread strawberry jelly on the non cut out hearts and set aside.
5. Melt Semi-sweet chocolate.
6. Dip the bottom of the white chocolate in the dark chocolate coming down into a v to look like a tuxedo. Drop two drops of chocolate above the dark v to look like buttons.
7. Allow chocolate to set and create sandwiches with the strawberry halves.
