Pesto Sauce Recipe
My garden is overflowing with Basil. I decided to make some Pesto Sauce and freeze it for later. This recipe is soooo easy, there is no reason to buy premade pesto sauce. This sauce can be used for pasta, pizza and sandwiches. This recipe makes enough for approximately 6-8oz of pasta or 4 sandwiches.

Easy Pesto Sauce
1 cup of fresh basil
1/2 cup fresh parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1-2 Cloves of Garlic
*If you want to add pine nuts, use 1/4 cups.
Combine basil, parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, garlic & pepper in food processor. Pulse until blended, but still a rough texture. Be sure to scrape the sides of the processor a few times to make sure it is mixed in.

I love pesto. I have not been able to eat it for years b/c of a tree nut allergy. I am excited to try this recipe, since the tree nuts are optional!! Thank you!

Sara,
We have the same allergy here, so we make it without them. It isn’t quite as “woodsy” tasting, but it really is yummo.
