On The Cheap: Thanks A Latte Cards

May 6, 2012

Teacher Appreciation week starts tomorrow.  I was looking for something cute to do for Evan’s teachers.  I came across this great idea from TCL.

If you want to do something cute for your teachers – and not to expensive, here is a fantastic idea from That’s Country Living.

You can purchase a $5 or $10 Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or other coffee shop gift card. I love this idea for everyone not just teachers!

Head here to print the template and get the directions for this fantastic idea!

On The Cheap: Mother’s Day Love Jar

May 4, 2012

I love this idea for Mother’s Day! Check out this Love Jar from Bella Caiden  The concept is quite simple – fill a jar with things you love about someone. I think this would make a wonderful gift idea for Mom or  Grandma for Mother’s Day. It doesn’t cost alot and it is literally filled with love. I think you could just use items you have on hand.

You can get inspiration for this project here.

New Get Crafty Link Up!

May 1, 2012

I like crafts. I really do. I just stink at them.

No, I mean REALLY stink. Think hot glue in your hair stink. Think a sweater with one arm hole stink. Think your Mom was embarrassed by your elementary school work. I’d love to make something cute out of old t-shirts. The only thing I can make out of old tshirts is cleaning rags.

So this is where you & some of my friends come in. I have some amazingly talented friends. (Seriously, they can make a card board box look like a million bucks.) If you are talented like my friends, please come each week and share your crafty ideas. They can be simple and inexpensive, just make sure they are better than what I would do. (If you glue your fingers and hair together, this link up probably not for you).

Not sure what kind of  crafts to link up – check out these ideas:

DIY Mother’s Day Canvas  from My Blessed Life

Arts & Crafts Caddy from Angry Julie Monday

So link up your craft!

\What is A Catalina ?

April 27, 2012

If your store offers Catalinas, they definitely should become part of your couponing strategy.  Catalinas can be used to increase your savings significantly at the grocery store.

What is a catalina?

A catalina is a coupon that is printed at the register at participating stores when you purchase select participating items.

Where does a catalina come from?

The catalina coupon prints out from the catalina machine at the register. (Be sure to check the machine to see if the coupons have printed.) See Photo so you can recognize them in the store.  They are little mini printers that are next to the register.  Make sure your catalina box has  a green light on if you are using self checkout.  They will print out after you pay for bill.

How do I earn a catalina?

There are several ways to earn a catalina at checkout.

Example A: Purchase x Dollars of a product to receive a coupon for X dollars off your next order (OYNO)

In this scenario, you must purchase $12.00 worth of any of the participating products to receive  3.00 off your next order.  You may pick any of the items included in the promo. You automatically save 25% with this promotion.
