Dayspring has partnered with Adopt-A-Classroom to bring needed school supplies to children and classrooms that couldn’t otherwise afford it. Adopt-A-Classrom increases opportunity for student success by empowering teachers with community partners and funds to purchase resources for the classroom.  Dayspring will be making a $5,000 donation to Adopt-A-Classroom this back to school season. Dayspring  can be found at Walmart and Christian Based Stores.

Not only does Dayspring offer back to school, they have a full compliment of cards for every occasion.

One winner will receive a $100 Back to School Prize Pack from Dayspring including, binders, folders, pencil holders and more.  We received this pack and Evan loved the alien themed school supplies.

    this is SUCH a great giveaway! My girls are going into 2nd grade…each year on the supply list there are also “classroom” supplies…most of what I purchase eacg year, goes into a “pot” for the entire class to use. very few things are actually “theirs”.

    some of the ways we try to send our daughter to school with purpose is to discuss some ways during the day that she can live/share her faith. we pray with her each morning before she leaves on the school bus. and we talk about how having a good attitude, being respectful and treating others well (not just her teachers) is a great witness to those around her

    We always speak to our girls about respecting others. This includes respecting space, property, ideas, feelings, etc. It’s quite a range to try to teach a 5 year old and a 7 year old. The most important thing we can do is set a good example. We don’t badmouth teachers or school policies, even if we don’t agree with everything that goes on.

Last year she drew a picture in her classroom journal that said “I love Jesus”. I took a picture of it & posted it on FB. I am just so proud of her.     Throughout the week, we talk about the importance of showing kindness and love to our family and others, such as teachers and students. We also try to reinforce that principle by our actions, such as reaching out to people who are less fortunate or need help at church and in the community. We try to make service a focal point in our family and hope that our children will follow our counsel and example.
