It has been a long weekend. This is the weekend that we decorate our Christmas tree each year. It is the “official” beginning of the holiday season for the Shaffer family.
It is also the weekend I spend countless hours in front of the computer finding deals.While I love finding all these deals and sharing, I wanted to give you my annual holiday deal reminders.
1. Not every deal is a deal for you.
2. Use your discretion and know your pricing. Just because a price says regular price $1,000, doesn’t mean that is the real retail price. (Amazon is famous for this). If something doesn’t seem worth the “regular retail” price, then check it out.
3. Create a budget. Stick to the budget. When you are done, you are done – even if I post the best deal of the century.
4. Be prudent. Just because it is Christmas doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use your super NINJA shopping skills.
With that being said, I hope you enjoy this season with your loved ones. I hope we find some AMAZING deals and you come in under budget!

We put up our tree on Thanksgiving day too. It used to be on the Friday after but my son just kept on asking for it (if it was up to him, it would have been up the day after Halloween, :) )
Thanks for the reminders. Like I commented on Crystal’s blog (MSM), of all the “deals/coupons blogs” out there, it’s only the two of you, that I know of, who do not push your readers to buy, buy, buy. Instead, you both remind us to be wise with our spending. That speaks volumes.
