So here we are, three weeks into the New Year. How many resolutions did you make this year? How many did you already decide not to keep? Hey, I am not judging, I am the queen of resolutions that have no follow through.
I wanted to start this series on getting organized in 2014 to help me get a better handle on my life. I consider myself to be a highly productive. However, like everyone there is room for improvement. If I could get my schedule together, I could get more done in a day and be much less stressed.
I could try to reinvent the wheel and create all of these wonderful resources to help me (and you) get organized. The truth is, there are so many great resources available on the internet. The problem, time. Ah yes, you know that precious thing that keeps slipping away no matter what we do.
Over the next few weeks Stevie and I will be bringing you some ideas to get your schedule, your house and beyond in order. I will be focusing on your time management/home management and Stevie will be focusing on my messy house getting your house organized with some practical tips.
The thing I struggle with the most is time management. I have tried to use some online apps and computer programs, but revert to good ole paper every time. Perhaps it is my age? I have been living my life using this:
Yes that is a hot mess, but that is what my brain feels like. So today, I am starting with a few resources to make my life more organized.
As much as I would like to make a complete and total binder with all the info, umm that would about kill me, because I am bad with my time management? I would not cook, clean or do anything else while I was filling out these pretty little forms. So instead, over the course of the year I am going to work on my binder – hopefully you will work along with me.
Daily Action Planner – I am hoping this will give my day a little more focus for work/home/life planning. I really like the simplicity of Life Your Way’s planning tools. The daily action planner gives me areas to keep these ideas:
- Today’s Focus
- Three Projects
- Appointments
- Have-Tos:
- Get-Tos:
- Meals & Water Intake
I plan on writing these down in the evenings – this way I won’t lay awake at night trying to remember what I have to do the next day.
You can download it for free here.
So over the next couple months, I will be organizing my home management binder – with the help of Life Your Way. I hope you will follow along with me and get your binder in order as well. This week’s assignment – find a super cute binder on clearance!
Other Resources from Life Your Way:
- Daily To-Do List {full size} or {half-sheet}
- Master To-Do List {full size} or {half-sheet}
- Weekly Meal Planner {full size} or {half-sheet}
- Weekly Action Planner {full size only}
Do you have some resources you love for home/time/life management? Share them in the comments.

I have the same problem you do. I download all these cool apps to help keep me organized, but when it comes down to it I go searching for the little yellow piece of table paper in my purse that I wrote everything down on! I’ll be following along – good luck!!

I am a HUGE list maker! Due to health issues I suffer with bouts of brain “anxiety”(my brain doesn’t know how to shut off! I’m ALWAYS thinking of something & MAJOR brain fog! It helps to “calm” my brain if I write stuff down on paper.
I look forward to following this post. Thank you
C.

I swear I have the same problem….have a day off and forget what I needed to get accomplished with my time. I always seem to remember at 10 PM, though! BTW – I have tried lists on my phone and sticky notes on my computer. No go! I prefer the pen and paper method.
