If you are joining us from Joyful Adorations, welcome!
So if you have been reading along with this ”day in the life” series, you have seen so many different and great ways to use essential oils. So, welcome to a day in the life here on FTM. My day in the life is going to be a bit different, because … we like to travel, so mine is going to be a day in the life on vacation. {Yes, I absolutely have to be different, but just because I am not home doesn’t mean I stop using oils}
Today, we are on a cruise ship and this is our home for the next 10 days. That means we will be living with 5,000 other people , every single day. So here is my routine when we travel, include hotels.
6am: Diffusing peace and calming. Traveling always makes me anxious.
7:15 am: I put a dab of thieves on my feet and get ready to go. Since I am so sensitive to getting sick, you will notice how much thieves I use in a day.
12:15 – After traveling in the car and going through checkin are settled in the room. This is where the fun begins – a quick cleanup with thieves cleaner.
1:30 – I did bring the big guns with me, the Young Living diffuser. This diffuses essential oils directly into the air. I let this run for a good 2 hours while we were out exploring the ship. These are perfect for hotel rooms too, Thieves is a great to kill all the germs in the air.
5:15 – I tend to over do the eating on vacation so I rub a little peppermint on my tummy to settle it from lunch – you know so I can go eat dinner! I have to mention the little star of my essential oil collection. I have chronic knee pain from a car accident 20 years ago. When I am doing a heavy workout or plan on doing alot of walking, it is a must.
10:30- Evan had a bit of a cold before we left, in fact he had to visit the doctor. For cold prevention, we use a little R.C. and Melaleuca.
11:30 pm – It’s bedtime, so time for a little more lavender and peace & calming for sleep!

Did you have any problems bringing your diffuser on board the cruise ship? Thanks

Great post, Shannon! I was so thankful to have my EO’s when we vacationed this year as well! They saved us from some bad tummy aches (yes, so we could go eat again, lol!) I will be sure and try your diffusing tip next time to kill those icky hotel room germs. :)

Thanks Kelly! We often get out of our routines when we travel and pay for it when we get back! I am happy to report, I did not get sick this year on my cruise! First time ever!
